Hm, yes. Pretty intense thing out there...

I wonder what in Florida will arrive...

Dunno, but for me, it is amazing how quickly the Tor Watch and the line popped up on radar. Either that, or I completely lost track of time (most likely the second...xD).

EDIT: On a side note, just picked up a 20 mph gust on my anemometer. That normally wouldn't be impressive, but it is in a really wooded area.

The cell approaching near New bern, NC is showing 55 dbz echo and possibly 60 dbz and increasing size. Noted large increase in size within 20 minutes. Cells immediately to south are intense as well.

I would have put up a severe TS warning for the area east of these cells based on this.

Also the cell moving through wilmington,NC and just north looks strong.

Also Havelock, NC, I would put up severe TS warning.

Why Havelock? There isnt even anything close to us. The nearest cell to us that could hit us is the one down by Jacksonville, and there is plenty of time to warn on that one, if it even becomes anything.

Right, it's hard to see from that radar map where stuff is. Looks like it will pass north of havelock, NC. Don't know why tor warning south of elizabeth city, low dbz echos, they must have seen rotation definitely high velocity readings.

Dunno, I think they saw something that weakened fairly quick. (Am looking off of the Newport, NC radar, not the one the warning was issued from, which was Wakefield, Va). I also think they got too caught up in issuing the severe t-storm warnings to cancel the TOR warning right away. (Was supposed to expire at 6 am, canceled at 5:50 am).

I guess small hai, dangerous lightningl and 50 mph doesn't qualify for severe ts warning. Nevertheless seeing some possible 55 dbz poss 60 dbz echos in that area.

Hail 0.75" and greater, winds 58 mph or higher, and/or a tornado are the qualifications for a Severe Thunderstorm.

I am finally hearing thunder, along with wind. Though, I've been hearing the wind all night (non-convective, gradient winds).

correction, the line has already moved through this area, but areas in line with the damage in snow hill, nc should have sev ts warnings up (just to the east, or ENE)

The damage report was issued by an MHX spotter, one of your buddies in the area?

must have been one of them, listed MHX after report. I just noticed 15 min ago that you are an MHX spotter, live in the area near that report, and noted that the report listed (MHX).

It was someone in the MHX network, since Snow Hill is in it. Now, who was it by? Dunno...kind of sounds like Fire and Rescue, judging by how they said three injuries.
