Going with the Central Caribbean, although it will have tracked through somewhere else earlier.

I went with eastern Gulf of Mexico. Has the first tropical cyclone of the season ever formed in the eastern Atlantic in recorded history EARLY in the season? Of course there have been some before that were late into the season (Alberto in 2000).

I'm thinking just northeast of the Bahamas, so I chose W atl

It will be tagged as 92L, the third INVEST of the year, and will be approx 120mi in diameter with winds reaching 65mph. It will brush the carolinas, but it will be swept out to sea.

I win, KWT.

Nah, just kidding, none of that 2nd paragraph was serious.

How are the breakpoints defined?

IMO, they are as follows:

Gulf of Mexico - eastern is east of a line from the western tip of Cuba to Pensacola, central is from that line west to a line from the NW tip of the Yucatan to Morgan City, western is west of that line except for the Bay of Campeche.

Atlantic - eastern is east of 45°W, central is west of 45°W and east of a curved line from the Leeward Islands to Bermuda and across to Cape Breton Island, and western is west of that curve.

Caribbean - eastern is east of a line from Bonaire to SW Puerto Rico, central is west of that line to a line from Cartagena to Guantanamo, southwestern is west of that line and south of 15°N, northwestern is north of a line from Chetumal to SW Jamaica, and western is between those areas.
