American Idol - Season 8

Based soley on tonights performances, DA won it hands down. I do not like him or dislike him-I think he needs some more maturity in his voice and in his style, but HE WAS PHENOMENAL for a 17 year old tonight.

Based on the season, DC should win it all.

I watched last 5 minutes of "Idol", waiting for 'The Angry Chef', and the contest is down to two less than manly-looking men named David?

If they had kept the cute and vertically challeneged Filipina-American young woman, or maybe the blonde, I'd tune in to see who won.

They sent home the woman with the thick Brooklyn accent on 'The Angry Chef' last night.

I fell asleep before it was finished. That tells you how bored I am with it. This is the first year that I really don't care who wins. David A has a beautiful and pure voice. He's too young and has a father that will most likely ruin his life one way or the other.

David C has more potential of making it big and succeeding in today music market. I love the fact that he wasn't even planning on auditioning and has made it this far.

A question, is David A 16 or 17? Last night, I could sworn they kept saying he was 16, but vbhoutex said in a previous post, he was 17. . .

I think he was 16 when he started, he is 17 now.

He was born on 12-28-90. Which will make him 18 at the end of the year. For his sake that is a good thing considering what his father is like.

I hope we see his dad's reaction if he doesn't win tonight. FOX better have some security standing by. I thought I saw a guard last night next to the judges table.

and yeah, he was 16 when he auditioned last summer.

IMO David A's voice is like velvet. The problem for me is that all 3 songs were basically the same sorta ballad stuff we've seen/heard all season. And all he does is stand there & sing and occasionally waves his arm out.

I actually thought his first performance of Imagine (back in March?) was the better of the two, and the best performance of the season for anybody.

Cook, as usual, brought something new and all three songs showcased a different slice of his talent.

Overall, I like Cook better but part of me wants to see him lose and be free to shop labels on his own, like Chris Daughtry...

mixed feelings I hate to see David C saddled with the title, but overall he earned it. . .
