I just got home and immediately heard about the 4 Boy Scouts killed. How horrible! :(

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,365782,00.html

LITTLE SIOUX, Iowa — A tornado killed four Boy Scouts when it struck the Little Sioux camp in western Iowa, state emergency management officials confirmed Tuesday.

Iowa Gov. Chet Culver told FOX News at least 20 people suffered injuries at the Boy Scout camp, which is located one hour north of Omaha, Nebraska.

Emergency officials who could be heard on a police scanner reported the injuries at the Scout Ranch which sits in Iowa's Loess Hills.

The officials said many of the injuries were head injuries.

A dispatch operator with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office said first responders were at the camp site and more were en route.

I would also be wary of this supercell dropping down a tornado anytime. The only way one can get such large VIL and hail is if you have a strong rotating updraft. Headed toward Salina, KS as well! They are getting pummeled tonight.

I think that cell broke my hail gauge! I'm not reading anything off of it (0% Hail, for a total of "0.00 inches in diameter") even though I KNOW it has hail.

Ouch. Not only 5" estimated in that cell, but a couple of counties behind it, there's another mid-70dbz storm with 3.5" estimated hail.

They better get a tornado warning out on that supercell too approaching Salina, KS. I see 120+knots of horizontal shear over a very small region on Wichita radar!
