To set the record straight...I just rewinded my DVR and Marshall Seese on TWC reported 967mb and NOT 957mb.

The weather channel once incorrectly reported Ivan's pressure as 892mb or something like that...source?

ALhurricane, I think thats good enough along with trecon finding 91kts at flight level for an upgrade, esp given the pressure it has so I fully expect an increase in winds to occur very soon.

Probably got another 2-3hrs over water before the westen part of the eye reaches land, thoughthe eyewall should be coming into the coastal strips within the next 2hrs I reckon and thus we should see hurricane force winds pretty soon being felt along the coasts near the Texas/Mexico border.

AT 800 AM CDT...1300Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE DOLLY WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 25.9 NORTH...LONGITUDE 96.9 WEST OR ABOUT 40 MILES...
60 KM...EAST OF BROWNSVILLE TEXAS.

DOLLY IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 8 MPH...13 KM/HR...AND
NORTHWESTWARD TO WEST-NORTHWESTWARD MOTION WITH A SLIGHT DECREASE
IN FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED TODAY. ON THE FORECAST TRACK...THE
CENTER OF DOLLY WILL BE ALONG THE COAST NEAR THE TEXAS/MEXICO
BORDER AROUND MIDDAY TODAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE INCREASED TO NEAR 95 MPH...155
KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. DOLLY IS A CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE ON
THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON SCALE.

Also, if anyone is wondering why it says
ON THE FORECAST TRACK...THE
CENTER OF DOLLY WILL BE ALONG THE COAST NEAR THE TEXAS/MEXICO
BORDER AROUND MIDDAY TODAY.

That's because the NHC/TPC cannot change the forecast in an intermediate advisory. I would think the next full advisory in two hours will see a shift north.

Yep i agree its nearly at category-2 now hurricanelandfall, only need a higher flight level wind reading in the NE and we will see this upgraded to category-2. As it is 95mph is still a pretty powerful category-1 hurricane.

HarlequinBoy, that visable is so impressive thanks for posting it up, at last Dolly finally gets something close to the hype that it had east of the windward islands, loosk like a pretty classic hurricane.

Where is she drawing this energy from for such a rapid pressure drop. The SST's are not high enough for such speedy strengthening. Slow yes, not this fast.
