Almost complete poof-ation this morning, mixed with a little spin-ation.

Seems like any movement to the west has ceased though.

Uhhh...no. Not a drop of rain on my lawn for 2 weeks now...with temps in the high 90's each day. I would happily trade with you at this point. My rain dance is a prayer to get this "blob" (you know, the mid level spin that was supposed to move into LA and die for the last 2 days now) to inch a little closer to TX.

Still some spin in that remnant convection. I'm not sure what this was.

Today is definitely more humid. I hope I can get something this week. I've had less than .5" for almost a month now.

We had two heavy tropical downpours come through this morning and it looks like another one building to the south. Much needed rain!

Looks like they have been slowly migrating westward. It's a welcomed relief from the oppressive heat we had.

I'm glad my Texas neighbors and friends are getting in of some of this rain. I know you all needed it like we did.

No rain here, and even the apparent mid-level swirl of yesterday is difficult to see.

Drought watch goes to code ochre.

One can hope. HPC offered a tidbit today...snipet...

RAIN THREAT CONTS ALONG THE NE AND CENTRAL GULF COAST AS MOST
MODELS LEAVE BEHIND A MID LEVEL TROF/ CLOSED LOW THAT WILL WORK
WWD ACROSS THE GULF COAST TRIGGERING CONVECTION SAT TO MON.

Large Blow-up of convection over the eastern
gulf associated with a trough has been producing
squalls that contain gusty winds of 30-45 mph
and torrential tropical rains all day today
across Florida:
http://www.goes.noaa.gov/ECIR3.html

This is a different area of convection
from the one near Texas, but this new
area of convection is producing squall activity
over the peninsula of Florida, and will
impact Florida tomorrow with heavy squalls.

A ridge builds in by Sunday pushing whatever
becomes of this convective blow-up
westward. I'm going to check some model runs.

I don't expect tropical development yet, but I do expect
the squalls to continue to develop and roll in across Florida
tomorrow, with gusty winds and heavy rain.
