And to think I was embarrassed all these years just because Becky once got a pencil erasor broken off in her nose and had to have it removed at the Emergency Room (she was only 5).

Perry - that's quite common actually! I used to work for a group of Ear Nose & Throat surgeons. Each week we'd have a child come in with all sorts of items in either their noses or ears: beans, peas, candy, marbles, small toys, etc. Sad thing was if they were very young and wouldn't lie still, they had to be strapped into a pedi-board (flat board with straps on it, to keep their legs and arms still). We'd hear them screaming, it wasn't painful but would you like somone poking around in your nose or ear with an instrument? It was hard to answer phones while all this was going on (my job). Let me tell you though - when that child came out we all gave him/her a bunch of suckers! Not just one. Kids just naturally want to do this for some odd reason. Have to say my girls didn't though.

Becky did a few wacky things....once accidently spray painted herself in the face while painting a volkswagon...at age 11 took a line drive right between her eyes during a softball game (forgot she was wearing a glove? :D

Sis also once nailed me in top of the head with a large rock (I recieved several stitches at the ER because of that). Sure lucky I have a hard head :D :D

I'll confess...I've swallowed my share of gnats over the years -- just part of growing up in the south :D

Heck, eating a few gnats along with your sandwich at a roadside park in south Georgia just gives it more flavor

I know that we are supposed to have a certain amount of iron in our diet, but perhaps there are better ways. :cheesy:
