I hope the pt helps Kathy. I've been going to PT for a pain in my butt. It's my piriformis muscle. It's having spasms due to a pinched nerve due to a bad disk in my back.

I'm not used to letting people hurt me like that. He moved my leg one way too fast and it was the worst pain I ever felt.

OK you hit chad, and I'll kick him. No wait. I'll hit him and you kick him.

You know what, when Chad gets to be our age, we all have to remind him when he starts in with these old age aches and pains, that we went thru it first. And that we will have very little sympathy for him.....LOL!!! Wait, we could be facing much worse than old age aches and pains by then.......he he

Ah, to be young again. We had it SO GOOD and didn't even know it, did we?

I was making dinner the other night, and pre-measured ingredients as you see the chefs do on cooking shows. I put one item in small plastic prep bowl (set of 5, from 1 cup size down to 1 tablespoon size). The largest size fell onto the floor and onto my foot. My bare foot. At the time I thought, oh it's just plastic. Then I noticed as I tied my shoes, my foot felt odd. I looked - it's black and blue, and swollen! From a dinky little bowl........LOL

Of course that's nothing compared to what you're going thru Kathy (and what you experienced DayLillyDawn). I really hope PT helps you Kathy.

Chad you had better be more respectful, Remember elderly people sometimes have the strength to whip a young whipper snapper's rear end.

That sounds the same as my left arm. I have a shoulder impingement , caused from falling off a ladder at work and breaking both arms. The only thing that really helped was the cortisone, but just a little. I am waiting for the second opinion, and then I'll have arthroscopic surgey. I sure hope it works, because I'm so tired of having to ask for help. Just like you Daylily, a bag of potatoes, or gallon of milk is just tooo heavy. But it's also about the angles. Hope you feel better soon.

My shoulder is getting much better thanks to the physical therapy. I've been going 3 days a week and i have exercises i have to do at home. My doctor just prescribed 4 more weeks of it.

I have almost full range of motion when raising my arm from the front and the side. I still can't put my hand above my waist when putting it behind my back. I hope i can get it as far up as my left arm, in between my shoulder blades.

Well my shoulder still hurts, it hasn't got any worse but hasn't got any better either. I take the 1800 of ibuprofen before going to bed at night so I can sleep and I have to take the same amount as soon as I get up in the AM.I take it as soon as I get up so it takes effect shortly after I go out on my crossing guard duty. I have one of those therapy exercise straps you anchor and stretch it with the affected arm but it doesn't seem to help.

Daylily, one thing my pt suggested for sleeping....if it's your right shoulder, lay on your left side and support your right arm with a pillow tucked between your body and your arm. Also, place another pillow against your back so that when you roll over during your sleep you won't jolt your shoulder and awaken you. I had to get used to sleeping on my left side since i'm a right side sleeper but i'm now able to sleep some on my right side.

CajunMama,
It is my left arm. I am a right side sleeper I can't put a pillow behind my back because there isn't room between me and hubby for a pillow. I usually start out on my right side but as the pain eases off I can turn over and lie on my left side for a short time. I don't usually wake up from the pain unless hubby accidentally hits it when he turns over. I don't think a pillow under it would help, because it would make the arm hurt raising it up like that.
