Was a light breeze present overnight? That factor could have halted any radiational cooling via mixing of warmer temperatures (aloft) to the surface.
Regardless, I'm amazed that the NWS Miami office is too cool with the overnight lows (on an incredibly frequent basis) these days... many progged "cool/cold" outbreaks eventually materialize as average (or even above average!) overnight lows/daytime highs.

This is the weather I enjoy, any cooler and I don't like it.
