In South Florida I'm looking for showers and thunderstorms to develop with the help of the cold front and the warm temperatures. I don't think the front by itself will be strong enough to bring a line of showers. The Tuesday forecast for Miami already dropped the rain chances from 50% to 40%.

Let's hope the 40% rain chance materializes across south florida....or more even...after midday tomorrow, the forecast returns to essentially dry weather in the forecast outlook.

Miami: 0.29" (-1.71")
Fort Lauderdale: 0.16" (-2.16")

The node of this front is much further south and into the BOC than other fronts.

The season is warming up.

Its ok, its ok. Even though its pouring and it looks like there is a lot more rain to come, everything will be ok seeing how there is only a 20% of rain today, which is not that bad, even though its going to be pouring for hours [/sarcasim]

Really, just 20% lol?

Looking at the NWS Miami discussion from a few hours ago before the large area or rain ahead of the front developed.....clearly they missed something fundamental in their forecast as the rain coverage is extensive and rain is heavy across all of the CWA.

It's been a while since I have seen NWS Miami miss the forecast this bad. The office is very good, though so a botched forecast from time to time is not that bad..

http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php ... glossary=1

FOR THE SHORT TERM...TODAY THROUGH THU...RADAR LOOPS INDICATE
LIMITED SHOWERS ALONG THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY AND LIMITED RAINFALL
EXPECTED ACROSS S FLA. ACTIVITY SHOULD END WITH THE PASSAGE OF THE
FRONT...

It's funny that before the rain, weather.com has a 30% chance for Miami, FL. Now the after the front has already cleared us, the chance of rain is 80%.

nice pics as always Hurakan! the grass looks really green for it having being so dry in the last few months!
but that 0.41" of rain Tuesday at Miami International Airport certainly was well needed in that area.

Thanks! My dad waters the lawn very frequently to keep it green. The grass in the front yard has always looked green but in the backyard, which receives more or less the same amount of water, it doesn't look as great.

Nice dry cool air behind the front. 47% humidity yesterday. The sun keeps it above 80 anyway. Last strong front?

Fire grows to 3000+ acres...Alligator Alley (1-75) remains closed to traffic.

Interstate 75 has been shut down in Broward County at U.S. 27 and in Collier County at Mile Marker 80, according to FHP.
