I was employed with EDS (Provider/ Customer Relations) in Jackson, Mississippi in 1995-96. I made quite a few friends there, but after moving back to Atlanta....and many of them accepting transfers and moving elsewhere across America, I'd lost track of most (I didn't have WebTV or email until June 2000).
This evening I was web surfing through some old Mississippi newspapers looking at past tornado articles, when I stumbled onto the obituary of a little girl named Charlotte I knew in Mississippi. Her mom and I were friends and co-workers, and Becky and her mom were best friends. The biggest shock: Charlotte died over five years ago :o

In November 1997, Charlotte and her mother (Johnnie) were involved in a terrible auto accident...Johnnie was seriously injured and Charlotte killed...she died the day before Thanksgiving

I just called Becky long distance, and she didn't know either...and is also stunned and saddened. Shortly after I moved back to Georgia in January 96', Johnnie also left EDS...Becky and Dave moved to Oregon late in 96', and they lost track of each other. I've sat here on many occasions since moving back from Mississippi wondering how my friends and co-workers were now, where they were living; and how big their kids were. I'd figured Charlotte had graduated from high school by now...and found out tonight this precious girl didn't even finish middle school (was 13 at the time of her passing

Why am I posting this? To tell others...if you have friends you haven't heard from in several years that you still care about....try to check on them if there's any way possible. Don't get slammed with shock between the eyes like I was tonight ...with the brutal force of a sledgehammer.
