Finally got a little over an inch 3 days ago.

Drought continues.

Wind finally swung around to SE tradewind rainy season direction. Maybe the Bermuda High is nudging west?

Very nice train of storms through dade and broward from south to north. Not very violent, just some light wind and occasional lightning, rain hasn't really started.

Very dark skies here now. A very summery day for the most part, except its been cloudy for much of the day. Lots of storms over Central FL today. Finally a summer day.

CORRECTED:-
At Key West , temperatures reached at least 90F on 29 of the 31 days this July (the 2 days it failed to hit 90F were Jul 10th with 89F and Jul 28th with 89F as well).
Additionally, low temperatures did not fall below 86F on Jul 29 and Jul 30 (both record high minimums) and 85F on Jul 31 (tied a 1967 record).

It was an excellent day across SE Florida. Mostly sunny skies and thunderstorms were completely absent.

Agree, a very pretty day outside Monday....of course, once you stepped outside, it was blazing hot under all the sun....but the sky had more of a gentle, spring or fall day look to it....just a few cotton ball clouds against a backdrop of blue. Monday's high/low temps reveal that this is full-on summer however:

Fort Lauderdale 91/83
Key West 92/86 (another nighttime low of 86 in KW....if you want to call that low)
Marathon 94/84
Miami 93/82
Pompano Beach 90/84

Not that I really look forward to this :froze: but for you heated up, way down South, folks here's a gift from the North (and most especially from Emma).

Miami weather was great!

Then I got to Naples, and all heck went loose. Poured from Naples to St. Pete. I got home to no power and a very strong thunderstorm. interesting storm though. XD

Just about perfect beach wx for all of the FL east coast for today, thanks to the easterly flow that has returned to FL from the surface to the mid levels.

Very warm (and dry)...even by local standards...start to the month in Miami:

Avg high temp (8/1/09-8/9/09) = 92.0F
Avg low temp (8/1/09-8/9/09) = 80.9F
Depature from normal = +2.4 deg
(7 out of 9 nights have been above 80 deg. lowest temp so far is 78 deg. every day has been above 90 deg so far)

Rainfall (8/1/09-8/9/09) = 0.62"
Departure from normal = -1.29"

http://www.baynews9.com/Klystron9.html <---go to 7 county. There is a GOM breeze over Pinellas, and a Bay Breeze east of the Bay. East Coast Sea breeze sparking light showers moving west across the state. Looking for two collision lines in a few hours.
