Comments: I was at work last night and observed a funnel cloud above the overpass at the intersection of NE coachman and Us19. Winds gusting to 40mph occurred there after. The rain was sideways and torrential. A few minutes after the storm cleared and we started getting customers again, a couple asked me if I had seen the Tornado and I explained that it was a funnel cloud. There were many people without power north of the area and east. I am a certified Skywarn Spotter ID*****

I didnt know you were a storm spotter.

Anyway, just like the NE is eagerly watching the front to sent Bill away, we should be watching the front here in N and CFL. The GFS sends the front into Central FL possibly as south as Punta Gorda. Lets hope it goes far enough south for a little drier air, and far enough east to keep Bill from impacting land.

Yes I have been since 04. I think bill will brush NE and the front may spawn a homebrew. Watch out LA.... west cause it will be your party if it occurs.

Frontal moisture seems to be moving toward the peninsula from the gulf. Two severe thunderstorm warnings in West Central FL have been spawned.

Areas inland are getting it hard. Hopefully some of the GOM convection moves onshore and holds together. It's Africa Hot here

Didn't get to see one forming, but I heard one forming above my house during Frances. It touched down a little down the road.
I understand what the whole "freight train" sound means now....

Yep that is a frightening sound, especially when you can hear it coming towards you during the middle of a Hurricane like I did during Alicia.

1st off I'd like to say hey to everybody I been a lurker on this amazing forum for several years so this is my 1st post I think. I live on this forum during hurricane season just never post but sure like the stuff I find here thats a fact.

Yea southwestern Zephyrhills got rocked. Blew over a 10x12 shed here and half of my fence in back on south side and took down my ham wire antennas. I couldn't look out there are no south facing windows here and I'm in death trap trailer. But it was rockin cause my weather station recorded several 90 - 100mph gusts and then a big shot at 114mph from southwest just before the power went out. And my batterys on the weather station are dead so when i lost power i lost weather data. And there was worse wind after power went out the darn trailer was rockin. And big hail off/on.

I been here for 13 years and never even seen these kinds of winds the year the 3 hurricanes went over us. It was a rocker. I'm from tornado alley (south eastern ks) so I'm not a stranger to freight trains blowing over. But like i say 13 years in Florida and this is worst winds I have seen here.

I'm close to 54 and Coats Rd southwest Zephyrhills.

anything as far as?

70 degree dewpoint line runs from Brooksville to Ocala to north of Daytona Beach. Not going to head any further south this weekend...or until october in all likelihood.

That same line is now from MacDill/the mouth of Tampa Bay to Flagler Beach.

I live in Cape Coral, Southwest Florida. Is it my imagination or has it been just NOT AS hot as it supposed to be. I am not saying it hasn't been baking hot this summer, the lack of rain has really made it hotter longer in the day, but it just doesn't seem as hot as it normally is. My A/C can be kept at 76 - 77 in my woodframe home without me feeling like I am cooking on the inside. I have never been able to do that in 16 years.

Last winter here was really odd and warm for a good portion of it. I am wondering if we will have a colder/cooler more lasting fall and winter this time around. The evenings are allready feeling a slight more comfortable and my Frangipani leaves are already yellowing.. telling me that something is amiss.

What think you?

We have been enjoying the low (well, for Florida low anyway) humidity past few days.

It has "felt" cooler than a normal August this year. Kind of hard to peg, but it has been cooler. Only half of the month has been above 90F.

It feels like it has been even hotter in West Palm. And WHERE ARE THE AFTENOON THUNDERSTORMS!?!?!?!? It was so nice to get some afternoon relief yesterday. Even with the A/C, my house gets uncomfortable by 3 PM if there isn't a break in the sun.
