Iran has no intention of doing as the International community has demanded they do and we all know they willstall as long as possible. Some will cry "but they have most of the oil". Israel could care less since they are almost totally nuclear powered IIRC.

I doubt we grant Israel overflight rights of Iraq. Not after some officials have advised that we shoot any Israeli planes down. Cannot sya more as that would drift into the political whelm

International Atomic Energy Agency censures Iran for its nuclear defiance

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,577 ... latestnews

VIENNA — The majority of the board of the International Atomic Energy Agency has voted to censure Iran for its nuclear defiance.

Diplomats inside the meeting say 25 of the 34 IAEA board nations present have voted for a resolution backed by the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany.

The resolution Friday criticizes Iran for defying a U.N. Security Council ban on uranium enrichment — the source of both nuclear fuel and the fissile core of warheads.

It also censures it for secretly building a uranium enrichment facility, and demands that it immediately suspend construction.

It notes that the IAEA cannot confirm that Tehran's nuclear program is exclusively geared toward peaceful uses. It expresses "serious concern" that Iran may be hiding a military nuclear program.

I think after this censure to Iran, now is a good moment for a surprise attack by Israel with U.S. help.

You can be assured that if that attack happens the only help that they may get from the U.S. is allowing a flyover of Itaqi airspace. JMHO

Yes,not to fly planes to Iran, but to allow airspace in Iraq is the only help from the U.S.

I'm fairly sure the US will allow Israel to use Iraqi airspace.

they will not. Only Saudis may allow it. We've mad etoo many noises about shooting down Israeli jets if they fly over Iraq. Basically, we would be fighting with Iran

Obama distanced himself from those comments IIRC.

BREAKING NEWS=IRANIAN Goverment approves construction of 10 new plants to enrich uranimun

And before they put the first stones for construction, the bombs have to oblibierate them comming from Israel.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,577673,00.html

TEHRAN, Iran — The Iranian government approved a plan Sunday to build 10 industrial scale uranium enrichment facilities, a dramatic expansion of the program in defiance of U.N. demands it halt enrichment.

The decision comes only days after the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency censured Iran over its program and demanded it halt the construction of a newly revealed enrichment facility.

Iran's state news agency IRNA says the government ordered the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to begin construction of five uranium enrichment sites that have already been studied and propose five other sites for future construction.

The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting headed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sunday evening, IRNA said.

I fear for the safety of those three hikers. Iran is playing a cat and mouse game and those dummies gave them leverage.

I really can't see Israel (or probably Saudi Arabia for that matter) letting this goahead unchallenged.

I can't imagine that this could be allowed to happen. If it is we might as well hand every terrorist on Earth a nuke to play with.

Just on a whim I checked how many Uranium enrichment facilities the US has. Only one!! And it supplies all of oour nations nuclear plant needs as well as a good portion of the worlds needs. Iran must be in dire need of power to build that many plants for peaceful purposes.

Yeah, I think the UK has one and I'm guessing Russia has one or more, so why Iran would want 10 is beyond me.

we wouldn't have had this problem had we took out the source back when they were named as a part of the axis of evil in 2002.

Cut off the NK funding for these activities and this stops yesterday. An Israel vs Iran proxy war is not likely to solve the fundamental problem

5 Brits Taken to Iran After Yacht Stopped in Iranian Waters

A racing yacht carrying five British crew members was stopped in Iranian waters Wednesday and its crew taken to Iran, the British government confirmed.

"On 25 November, a racing yacht owned by Sail Bahrain and crewed by five British nationals, was stopped by Iranian naval vessels," reads a statement from Britain's Foreign Office.

"The yacht was on its way from Bahrain to Dubai and may have strayed inadvertently into Iranian waters. The five crew members are still in Iran."

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said U.K. officials have been in touch with Tehran and are trying to resolve the matter swiftly.

"Our Ambassador in Tehran has raised the issue with the Iranian Foreign Ministry and we have discussed the matter with the Iranian Embassy in London," he said.

The Foreign Office statement added that all the crew members aboard the yacht are "safe and well" and their families were informed before the information went public.

Iran not obliged to tell where it will build 10 new plants

http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2009/12/ ... .html?_r=1

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday the country did not have to tell the U.N. nuclear agency about its plans to build nuclear sites unless it used imported technology.

"We are not obliged to inform the International Atomic Energy Agency about our plans to build nuclear sites unless the technology is imported," Ahmadinejad told state television.
