Wow. That live streaming (link below) is saying this is the worst winter storm they've seen in 20 years! I can't sit and watch it, but listening to the streaming while baking goodies.

They're saying do not travel. Stay where you are.

Is the Low still moving east or has it started moving more NNE? I still see quite a bit of precip to the W of of us.

Good call missguy83.

I called this too 2 days ago...NWS was too slow as usual. GEM model yesterday was the further south, then the 12z ECMWF nailed it, brought the low a lot further south. NWS is so stuck on the NAM...

thank you all for the kind words, i just went with gut about it a local meteorologist was saying that this morning sometimes you just have to go out on a limb sometimes it gets one in trouble and other times it pays off.

whoa. If you go out on that gut feeling limb sometimes it will get you flagged by the posters if your wrong. Thank God you were right! But I think you were really watching the the sattellite and models really close to make the prediction you did/.

just also add this was the most hellish forecast down to the very end trying to pinpoint exactly where that area was
gonna be b/c the models started fooling me even late yesterday maybe it was gonna be up north, but i saw the 500 mb
low still tracking further south, i locked onto that for sure b/c that is gonna give you the best result over any model
watching real time data ie via sat imagery or what have you...

just noticed nws has lowered grid temps for even my area w.falls early next week
from highs in 40s to now on avg 35ish for mon,tue time frame with still snow... =) this could indeed be a very active pattern we are heading into

I know we're not through having fun with this one, but here is the latest from nws FW for early next week.

FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY WILL BE DRY AND QUITE COLD. OUR NEXT SYSTEM
IS SHAPING UP FOR TUESDAY AS AN MID/UPPER TROUGH MOVES OUT OF THE
SOUTHWEST AND OVER THE COLD AIR IN PLACE ACROSS NORTH TEXAS. GFS
FORECAST SOUNDING (DFW) FOR TUESDAY MORNING IS BELOW FREEZING
WITH SATURATION EXTENDING UP TO 550MB. THUS...A WINTRY MIX IS IN
THE FORECAST FOR THE DAY. HOWEVER...DAYTIME TEMPS SHOULD WARM
ABOVE FREEZING BY MIDDAY...MELTING ANY SNOW ACCUMULATION.
