Just went outside....well, went outside about half an hour ago, then spent 30 minutes figuring out how to upload these: :ggreen:

:uarrow: The roads really are pretty bad. I nearly slipped and fell when I stepped outside. Looks like it's just wet, it's actually slushy ice. :darrow:

Measured 1.5" here in Rockwall. Told the kids about the good news and bad news. Their reaction was, "what kind of people don't close school today?"

All I can say u guys are lucky dogs up in north TX...I mentioned last week this was possible, and that I guaranteed a cold outbreak. Have fun...looks like roads are ok, but bridges are going to be a pain.

WOW I JUST WOKE UP! There is a bunch of snow outside, and on the streets. There is like two inches piled on top of the fence. Lol this is so awesome.

Forget breakfast I'm getting a jacket on.

I didn't expect, was a little shocked waking up to it. Closing in on 3 inches.

We might get a little break and it might mix with rain a little during early afternoonm, but late this afternoon and early evening we're going back to all snow, and it could be pretty heavy. My understanding is the big kicker is coming later.

You think? Im pretty sure were actually colder now than originally forecast, and the rain was supposed to mix in intiially, which never happened. Holding at 31.9 here now, light snow still falling.

:uarrow: Precip is backbuilding nicely west\southwest of us. When it looks like there's a dry slot, it fills in. I doubt we will get much of a break. FW said they expect continuous snow with intermittent heavy pockets.

Just siding on the air of caution just in case. If a little break happens the temp will have time to raise a tad to make it mix a little with rain. But not like a big deal, or anything. If we don't get any breaks then that's a different story.

But the main thing is coming with the back end comes. That should be the heaviest coldest snow.

I think the slot is going to fill. UL is still far out west and has only just begun to enter the very moist air that has been streaming into texas. Strong convective storms are building just below Abeline.

And as i type this, i look outside and its snowing very lightly now :)

Just about to update. Fox 4 keeps saying it's breaking up a little for now, but heavy stuff will come later, and i can kind of see where he is coming from.

.UPDATE...
A HEAVY SNOW BAND IS MOVING ACROSS NORTH TEXAS THIS
MORNING...NOW NORTH OF INTERSTATE 20. AS THIS BAND MOVED INTO THE
I-20 CORRIDOR...THE INTENSITY INCREASED AND SNOWFALL BEGAN TO
ACCUMULATE ON ROADWAYS AND SURFACES. BECAUSE OF THE STRENGTH OF
THE SNOW BAND AND THE ACCUMULATIONS ON ROADWAYS...WE UPDATED THE
WARNING AND ADVISORY TO BEGIN NOW. SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE MORNING
COMMUTE ARE POSSIBLE.

IMMEDIATE CHANGES OF INTEREST THIS MORNING WERE TO ADJUST THE
TIMING OF THE ADVISORY TO 9 AM TO MIDNIGHT AND UPGRADE THE
NORTHWESTERN COUNTIES TO A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR THE SAME TIME
PERIOD. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 3-5" ARE EXPECTED IN THE WARNING
AREA.
