THE STATE. EXPERIMENTAL MESOSCALE STLT WIND ALGORITHM SHOWS A 150KT JET
STREAK PULLING AROUND THE ERN SIDE OF THE UPPER TROF ACROSS SRN TX WHICH
IS LIFTING THE IMPULSE RAPIDLY TO THE NE. CLOUD TOP COOLING CAN ALSO BE
OBSERVED IN IR IMAGERY OVER E CENTRAL TO NE TX LIKELY RESULTING IN MOD
INTENSITY..WET SNOW FROM NE TX INTO EXTREME SE OK/SW AR/NW LA. AS UPPER
TROF CONTINUES TO DIG THROUGH THE SRN PLAINS..COLD AIR AND ACCOMPANYING
SNOW WILL SHIFT A BIT ESE ACROSS THE SRN MS VLY. 00Z STREAMLINE ANALYSIS
INDICATED SERLY 925MB FLOW ACROSS LA/NE TX AND SRLY 850MB FLOW ALONG THE
TX/LA BORDER PULLING RICH GULF MOISTURE NWD INTO THE COLD AIR. BLENDED
TPW PRODUCT STILL SHOWS UP TO 0.75" PW'S OVER NE TX. COOLING SFC TEMPS
SHOULD ALLOW FOR GRADUAL EXPANSION OF SNOWS AS WELL WITH SNOW REACHING
ACROSS MUCH OF LA/MS/AL AS THE SYSTEM PROGRESSES.

The 7" measurement was just a random spot on the ground where people had been walking. The 12" measurement was on top of the shrubs. And yes there are cars under all of that snow!!!!!!!

Let's hope not!!!
Hopefully, we're just getting back into a string of winters that can produce memorable events like the ones back in the 1960s and 1970s. After all, the DFW 24-hour record of 12.1 was set twice in a 14-year period (1964 and 1978).
Who knows, maybe we'll have another snowstorm... or two... or three like this one over the next 15-years!
Ntxw wrote::uarrow: That's life in Texas. Poor southerngale had a near miss because of that darn freeze line. Look how different it was! I bet he has another shot at it next week.
FOG POTENTIAL IS BECOMING CONCERNING FOR THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.
GIVEN THE ABUNDANT SNOWFALL ON THE GROUND AND LIGHT WINDS IN PLACE
PATCHY DENSE FOG IS LIKELY. ALSO...WITH FREEZING TEMPERATURES...
THIS FOG IS GOING TO CAUSE FURTHER PROBLEMS.
HockeyTx82 wrote:I wish the roads were not bad. There are some very nice back country roads with hills and creek beds I would love to go and see just NW of town. Perhaps in the morning I will try and make it out that way once the sun is up and take some pictures.
Ntxw wrote:Hmm still no snow total update from the NWS. I'm curious to see if DFW has broken the record.

Same here. I want to go to bed but I also want to know before I do. At least work is closed tomorrow so I can sleep in.
