So I'm up here in Nova Scotia. My question is... because in Halifax we are going to be on the eastern side of the storm if all stays the same, does this suggest we may still have hurricane force winds?
Thanks
I am posting this for you again so that someone can answer it for you. Stay safe up there!

You might...particularly if the center moves a little farther east than forecast. If you do see hurricane force winds, it won't last for long. Just hang indoors tonight and tomorrow morning.

Yes, that's what I thought. I will hunker down for a bit.
I guess only time and the 'Duke of Earl' will tell
Thanks!

I'd like to be on Nantucket right now. Earl's outer edge should be there in the next few hours.

Re: ATL: Hurricane EARL - Discussion
The convection does appear to be firing up a little bit near the center. Unfortunately the center of circulation is just out of radar range.

What does that new area of convection mean for us in SE Mass/Cape Cod. Looks like he has formed himself much better than he was a few hours ago

Good macvicarj. They are really downplaying it here in SE Mass. Except for the storm surge and there is a house in Nantucket about to go off the cliff. So sad....I really think that we all will be fine but I want to hear from the pros about that convection.......no wind here and the rain has stopped...

That's terrible to hear about that poor house and its owners
I'm sure we're in for a bad storm. I wish I understood these systems and all the discussion more... I think I would feel more at ease to be able to read the tools, but alas... we wait for the professionals to read them for us
