A storm I will never, ever forget. And I cannot believe its been 11 years.

And another storm none of us will ever forget. Ironically, its replacement lives on this day.

Ivan the terrible.

Pensacola was a war zone for weeks. I will never forget the hell of that night.

This video to this day sends chills.

I remember getting Floyd up in New Jersey. It was the last time I was in a hurricane warning. I got off of school for the day, and fortunately it wasn't terrible where I was. The winds were strong, the waves were big, and there was some rains, but it wasn't what the news hyped it up to be. However, we were lucky, since other parts of New Jersey got severe flooding from Floyd.

About Floyd - how was it that its outer bands spread all the way well into Canada (over 1,200 miles from the eye at one point)? That was HUGE...

Re: Ivan

Still in Navarre...

The drive home down from Auburn, down I-65 then to Brewton and down FL-87 - we were dang worried... then the turn into our sound-front subdivision and seeing the destruction and debris line was nerver-wracking. Then the final turn onto our street and seeing our house ok -whew.

The sound of chainsaws, generators and choppers for weeks....

I remember Floyd vividly. I lived in Havelock at the time and was amazed that all we got from it was 6 hours of tropical storm forced winds and a few inches of rain and we were on the east side of the storm. Many of my friends evacuated and ended up not being abled to get home because of the flooding that occured west of us.
