KXII-TV met Steve LaNore with an update on his forecast, which now is 70% chance of snow and 1-3" of accumulations in the Sherman/Denison area:
"UPDATE: 9:00
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon Friday for all of north Texas. Our high-resolution Futurecast model run this evening has keyed in on the intensity of the mid-level low (see complete discussion below), and is generating higher snowfall totals. NCEP's NAM is also producing more snow on its newest run. The moisture supply looks to greater than seen in the earlier analysis, so snowfall may range as high as 3" with 1-2" more typical.Snow will end by Friday afternoon. Extensive ice and snow cover plus higher new snow totals forecast leads me to lower highs Saturday to around 40."
EDIT: This is where those 15:1 ratios that the NWS referred to earlier today are going to play a huge role in accumulations overnight across North Texas.
