Re: SE TX/SW LA Winter Wx- Big Warm-Up Feb 13-20
Saw several flocks of beautiful robins migrating back north yesterday (2/24). Haven't seen that many since 2005 ... yes, 2005. Probably, just a coincidence. Either that, or maybe the robins know something about tropical weather that we don't.

Yikes, I hope we have correlation and not causation, haha

Yes it was really amazing!! And perfect weather for the trail riders. One of the Salt Grass Trail riders actually thanked us for the beautiful weather(wish I had that much control). As most Houstonians know it is usually cold and wet when the trail riders arrive in town.

41° this morning... brrrr. Funny how quickly you adjust to the warmer temps and 41° feels really cold.
It should warm back up to the low to mid-70s this afternoon, though.

Re: SE TX/SW LA Winter Wx- Mild Temps to Continue
Warmed up to 77f here this afternoon after 46f this am. Got part of my fence rehab done today. Still have to bundle up a lot of limbs I've cut for trash pick up and then cut some more. Waiting at least a week before I plant anything though. March is notorius for rogue cold snaps and the Farmers Almanac says there will be a hard freeze mid March.

We were just starting to see the beginnings of the drought then. Like you said, little did we know... and now we are closer to "winter" again and what are we seeing? More drought. Looking forward to cooler weather though. With the inversion in place tomorrow I am wondering how really cool we are going to get.

More like the worst drought since the 1950s or late 1910s.

We do now know it is at least the worst since the 1950's and that it came on in a year instead of a few years like in the 1950's. Official report due out this week if I am not mistaken.
