Next Severe Event around May 4 SE CONUS

#1 Postby GCANE » Thu Apr 28, 2011 2:00 pm

At this point GFS shows a shortwave could develop around mid TN on Wednesday and may dig into a negative tilt as it advances thru NC.

I am sure timing, position, and amplitude will vary on the model runs.

Stay tuned.

Early May is already severe in my backyard...quite literally.

A severe thunderstorm came through Denison at dawn this morning and a big tree in our front yard cratered the roof on my wife's Suburban. It may be totaled.

Lots of tree damage in the area, big signs on the highway blown down, and a huge steeple at a local church knocked over.

Kind of localized damage in one area of town - I suspect it was a microburst.

Wow - very sorry to hear about the damage.

Sounds like no one was hurt - thankfully.

The way its going, May could be hell.
