i'm kinda getting excited being in Long Island... 8-) but yes, kinda worried as well; already informed my parents about the possibility of a Hurricane in 5-6 days' time...

That is one tightly wound bad baaaaaaad girl. wow I know the pressure doesn't look that low as pressures go in this run..but geeze, the isobars are so packed together, it looks like a monster. pheww you guys on the east coast take heed, I can't remember seeing such a tightly wound cane on the east coast like that. And its not just this model run..on this particular run..it seems to be ALL the runs with ALL the different models, no matter where it goes..it just looks so tightly packed, you can't even tell where its making landfall.

Think I'm going to bed... FL looks good to me! Will send some thoughts to our neighbors up north!

I'd be on the "dirty" right hand side of Irene, looks bad for the entire region (Long Island, especially Southern New England, through the Maritimes) in this run.

Yea, even though the chances of that track completely verifying in track and in strength isn't very high, if that track (and strength) did come to pass, the horrific damage it would cause would send this country into a very deep and dark depression(just my opinion).

I believe that too, it would flood the NYC subway system and wipe out a big chunk of Long Island

Ah my bad, though I'm sure certain people (I won't see who due to the no political posts rule) will have lots of "fun" if Irene hits anyhwere New York at anywhere near that intensity.

00 NOGAPS at 120h. Much slower in the later time periods as the 12Z NOGAPS was off to the races to the northeast.

Your comment was warranted and fine. I'm sure your family didn't take offense and knows you are concerned about them.
