Totally. Its probably the worst rip current risk right now vs. all summer. At least the surfers know what they are doing and have (hopefully) a leashed flotation device.

I was watching this cam earlier when the first squall came through. Looked just like this scene. Then 30 seconds later those palm leaves were sideways, waves going crazy and people running off the beach as lightning was coming down. Crazy.

I'm really scared for all of them. I am trying to spread the message all over that they need to take this seriously and learn from hurricane veterans in the south.

You also have to remember the last time they went through a storm like this. The last direct landfall in NE was BOB in 91. They have been skirted and skimmed by many, but no direct landfall. Last serious landfall was Gloria in 85.
