ATL: LEE - Remnants - Discussion

been watching Lee's western rain-bands inching-along down the coast from the NE all morning towards Houston-Galveston.....and I mean slow like a turtle....dont know if it makes it much further....it appears closer than earlier...

Another tornado warning for Baton Rouge. I believe this is the 7th so far for this area. Pretty crazy.

Soupbone, have any been confirmed or have they just been the potential to form by radar?

So far I see no confirmed touchdowns. I hope it stays that way. I've never seen so many warnings like this for one area.

Walker Police reported a funnel cloud being spotted about 6 mile east of the town of Livingston. That's the first confirmed sighting I've heard of today.

It is interesting to watch underthwx. As KFDM showed earlier wonder if the NAM could have been on to something splitting Lee up and sending the piece of energy left behind in western LA back south into the gulf.

might explain what im seeing on the loop CM.....those bands moving sw from a stationary system?.....

interesting as the LLC makes landfall it looks like a west wobble is bringing in some moisture into SE TX....is the hestitate all the models were showing then race off to the NE? is the this the loop a lot were showing earlier?.....or is the NAM really thinking straight. It does good with CONUS synopics....hmmmm

Long-time lurker. Just signed up. Was raining sideways here around noon. Just had a period of no rain but it looks like we should be getting more again soon.

Got my smoker going with a pork butt roast on enjoying the cool weather. Luckily I have a covered porch to do so.

What do you guys think the odds of Lee strengthening are at this point? Looks to still be fighting some dry air to the west still.

Welcome to the world of non-lurking, bluzeman! Although a few squalls developed near Lee's center a few hours ago, they've now dissipated. I think Lee has reached its peak already and is now slowly declining.

PW values have to be inching up some to even have these bands make it this far....the west wobble helped...

I wouldn't call that 'confirmed'. That's third or fourth hand at best.

looks like a band is forming outside the main shield...still holding together and approaching the West loop....

the main rainshield can only get to 59N and basically cuts off....

The weather underground has what they call the wundermap. It is really cool with observations and radar. Here is a link for south Louisiana, hope it works.
