7:00p.m. (Beeville) Corpus Victoria area
We just finished a pretty good thunderstorm about an hour ago some pretty strong wind gust but didn't last long. I think myself and Redder are the only ones down this way. I have been privied to listen in on the emergency managers of Corpus Christi's conference call at 11:00 tonight. So I will post all the good details after the call. I know now they are preparing for a possible direct hit so we will see what they say.

Dang!! I leave for the day to go help a buddy do some spring cleaning (yeah, I know it's summer) and look what happens!
Our original plans were to relax by the pool, but it was obvious about an hour or so after my post this morning that the weather was not gonna be sunny here. We stayed inside with the stereo on and did a bunch of stuff while her fiance was at work at the hospital. Then cooked supper and just got through eating a little while ago. They went out and I came home. I figured it *might* be a depression by now.
Pffffffffft! Wrong!
I'm tired and don't anticipate staying up late tonight. Need to get caught up and see what's going on with Fabian also.
Good to see you again, Houstonia!
Take care, everyone!

Okay folks its 1:19 am - I am writing this from the East side of houston... So far I have received over 3 inches of rain - closer to 4. My front yard is flooded. Looks like on radar that we will get tons more. No flooding of house here its on blocks - but yard will be a swamp. I have all my cats on the front screened porch - on high ground. Looks like Grace will come ashore soon. So if I am still awake - I will post another update around 6 a.m.

From League City on the shores of Clear Creek.....the creek is well out of its banks, creeping towards the parking lot of my apartment complex....don't know exactly how much rain we've gotten but it sure seems like a lot! The rain has been steady for at least 4 hours, with occasional thunderstorms. I know we have a flash flood warning, and any road in Clear Lake that usually floods is under water. Wouldn't want to be driving right now. Local mets are saying they expect at least 2" to 4" more before Grace moves on...

5.3" of rain overnight
Very heavy rains overnight and no wind. Looks like another band of torrential rain moving into E Brazoria, Galveston, and Chambers Counties
Much more rain for you Ticka

More rain?
We had heavy rains last night between 2-4am. Rain gauge had 5+ inches in it when we woke up this morning. Not flooding in the immediate area but scanner radio (pd/sheriff office) are watching Clear Creek for flooding. What a washout for Labor Day!

Here is my latest update. Went to church this morning - emptied out the rain gauge at 7 inches. And it keeps coming down - my whole neighborhood has water in it - the street at the end of my road is flooded. Parents live in Highlands and they have had 6 1/2 inches and it was coming down good again. Looks like I could get up to 10+ inches.

Need Rain
I could sure use 3-5 of your 7 inches over here in Westbury (southwest Houston). Only 1.0" so far. Wind is blowig pretty hard - maybe 1-2kts. Radar shows the weak center of Grace just northeast of Houston (forget tht NHC position).

Finally a break in the action here in my neck of the woods. I had 9 inches in my rain gauge. But finally its getting lighter outside - looks like on the radar the rain has shifted to Beaumont to SG's area.
My question now is what is the future forecast for us here in SE texas - continually rain threat for several more days or will this pull up to the north and out of here?

Around 4pm central time is the first substanial amount of rain we have had. We only had very light showers overnight. It really doesn't look like we will be getting a great deal more. If this is all there is...then we truely lucked out again.
Ticka...hope you are floating away!! :o
