Way way less. Not even close. If you're speaking of the foot that storm had a e/se wind with a screaming subtropical jet in cold air. This is all northerly/NWerly. We'll be lucky if anything on radar reaches the ground because of the dry air moving in.

Amarillo put up winter storm warnings, which might indicate there's been more snow for that region than they probably expected. If it holds together well our friends in Oklahoma could get some surprises.

Yeah, this is nothing close to that event. However, it seems like there is moire moisture than previously forecast. A lot of it will head into Oklahoma, but I still think we'll see some flurries here.

There will be more events this winter, no worries. This was a good warm-up.

HRRR has been hinting at some moisture forming over the metro. I'm liking that idea :cheesy:. I think there's a good chance we'll see snow (light) tonight!

With such dry air and if it happens after sunset, could happen if it any falls.

When do you expect the precip to develop over our area?

im talking about the event where we had a low pressure swing south east out of the pan handle and sit right over dallas metro. We were only forecasting an inch of snow at best and we got a foot. the radar kind of reminds me of that event

The WSW wasn't put up for snowfall reasons. They are expecting below winter storm criteria. The warning was issued for the blowing snow and near whiteout conditions at times. I-40 is an east-west interstate that gets hammered by snow events with strong north winds.

It's a different set-up. Also some models were predicting heavier amounts of snow for that event. No models have shown anything more than a dusting for tonight.

Just not enough moisture.

Thanks for the clarification :P. I am amazed anyone lives there with the kind of winters they get as far south as they are compared to other locations!

Here's part of FW's afternoon discussion.

TEMPERATURES ON WEDNESDAY WILL NOT WARM MUCH MORE THAN VALUES
REACHED TODAY...RANGING FROM THE MID 30S IN THE NORTHWEST TO THE
MID 40S IN THE SOUTHEAST. THE UPPER LEVEL TROUGH TO OUR WEST WILL
FINALLY EJECT EAST TOMORROW NIGHT WITH A STRONG SHORTWAVE IN THE
BASE OF THE TROUGH MOVING OVER NORTH TEXAS. MAJORITY OF THE MODELS
ARE CONSISTENT WITH INCREASING MOISTURE IN THE DENDRITIC GROWTH
ZONE ALONG THE PATH OF THIS SHORTWAVE WHICH INCREASES THE
POTENTIAL FOR SNOW FLURRIES TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
MORNING. HAVE MENTIONED A CHANCE FOR FLURRIES DURING THIS TIME
FRAME MAINLY NORTH OF I-20 WHERE IT APPEARS MID LEVEL MOISTURE
WILL BE THE HIGHEST. HOWEVER...THIS COULD BE EXPANDED FARTHER
SOUTH DEPENDING ON THE DATA OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. RIGHT
NOW...THE LOWER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE LOOK TOO DRY TO SUPPORT
MORE THAN FLURRIES WITH NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR TOP-DOWN SEEDING...BUT
CANNOT COMPLETELY RULE OUT A SMALL CHANCE FOR SOME LIGHT SNOW TO
OCCUR. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR...THE MOST LIKELY LOCATIONS TO
RECEIVE LIGHT SNOW WOULD BE EAST OF INTERSTATE 35 AND NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 20. ACCUMULATIONS WOULD MOST LIKELY BE LIMITED TO A
DUSTING.

Pretty much what we have been saying. I expect the models to pick up a little more moisture as we go on.

Some places might get lucky and get a dusting!

From NWS Shreveport for Texarkana:

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

A STRONG COLD CORE UPPER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DRIFT EAST
ACROSS OKLAHOMA AND TEXAS EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...WHILE
TEMPERATURES ARE NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING ACROSS NORTHEAST
TEXAS...SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA...AND SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS. LIGHT SNOW FLURRIES
MAY DEVELOP AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT AND THROUGH
MID MORNING WEDNESDAY...MAINLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A TYLER AND
HALLSVILLE TEXAS...TO FOUKE AND EL DORADO ARKANSAS LINE. GIVEN THE
WARM GROUND TEMPERATURES...LITTLE IF ANY ACCUMULATION IS
EXPECTED...ALTHOUGH PATCHY ICE MAY DEVELOP ON ELEVATED OBJECTS
SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. THIS THREAT WILL BE SHORT
LIVED...AS TEMPERATURES WARM ABOVE FREEZING BY MID MORNING
WEDNESDAY.

TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO THE 20S.

Hello everyone! I've been following this forum for a while and made an account finally! I'm obsessed with weather and winter weather and am an amateur so hopefully I'll learn some new things so bare with me! I'm located in north Carrollton in Denton county and hoping we can get some action here tonight. Sure would be nice to see some flakes fall, especially this early in the season even if it's just some flurries! Crossing my fingers and watching closely :)

Thanks! I'm from north Texas, north of Dallas. Didn't get any snow last night but the snow line was just west of me!
