I thought it was a little wet this summer across the state ;)

Florida had its wettest summer on record, partially driven by Hurricane Isaac in August and Tropical Storm Debby in June. The total statewide summer precipitation of 30.58 inches was 8.85 inches above the long term average

Oh yes, the first real sign of Autumn arrived this morning here in Northeast Florida. Temperature measured 58 degrees at my home locale this morning. Absolutely feels great!! Definitely an indicator that Fall is coming!.

Lovely! Lehigh Acres in Southwest Florida was 71 this morning. Yesterday it was warm but comfortable. I am looking forward to the lower humidity today. Just waiting for the day I can turn off the AC.

Didn't quite make the 50s this morning like I thought we would, but 61 and low humidity. I'll take it!

it has been so nice down here in Southwest Florida/Lehigh.
It has been a heck of a lot more comfortable outside. There have been a few stray rain showers, but not many. The breeze and lower humidity have been such a blessing. Mornings and evenings are the best.

Fall is in the air for sure.

I guess we are looking at a week of off and on rain and higher humidity. Hmmmmm I thought we were all done with that. :(

On a side note... This is the best time to get that vegetable garden planted!

Feels like a night in the middle of the summer/rainy season here in parts of central FL, here in western Seminole County borderline with Apopka I have received over 3.5 inches of rain so far and still coming down after a high of 91 degrees with dewpoints well into the 70s.

Other than the FL Panhandle getting into some cooler wx early next week, no real strong cold front to push down the FL Peninsula is seen in the near future. This time of the year a cold front needs a good push from a deep trough swinging across the eastern US to bring the cooler and much drier air down the spine of the peninsula.
As next week goes on the temps will cool down a little bit but it will be mostly be because of onshore winds off the Atlantic with dewpoints falling in some parts of central and southern FL down to the mid to upper 60s.

Well that lower dew point will be appreciated. Even a high of 87* would be welcome with a bit of drier air.

Rains have basically missed us but for a few light showers for the past few days or week. It cooled us off though! Autumn is trying! 8-)

So, NWS Miami has had just over 96 inches so far this year. SO FAR!

And just think, we could easily get some kind of tropical system in mid-late October or even November to add to those totals. Or even another stalled front or two.

Little dry-ish NE flow going right now....we've gone from brutally hot and humid to merely warm 8-)

Looks like the rainy season will hang on in South Florida at least through the extended range:

FOR LATE WEEK INTO NEXT WEEKEND, BOTH GFS/ECMWF SHOW A STRONG CLOSED
MID/UPPER LOW DIVING ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES STATES WITH A TROUGH
EXTENDING SOUTH INTO THE GULF OF MEXICO. BOTH MODELS SHOW WARM,
HUMID CONDITIONS LATE WEEK AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM AND JUST CANNOT
SHUT MENTION OF SHOWERS/TSTORMS OFF ANY DAY DUE TO SUFFICIENT
MOISTURE/INSTABILITY CONTINUING...ESPECIALLY OVER THE WEEKEND.
BOTH MODELS HAVE BEEN GRADUALLY BACKING OFF ON THE THRUST OF THIS
COLD FRONT FOR SOUTH FLORIDA...ESPECIALLY NOW THE GFS WHICH KEEPS
DEWPOINTS IN THE LOWER 70S ALL THE WAY THROUGH NEXT WEEKEND AND
INTO NEXT WEEK.
THE ECMWF SHOWS SLIGHTLY DRIER AIR BEHIND THE
BOUNDARY BY MONDAY...BUT EVEN IT SHOWS WINDS QUICKLY TO THE EAST
BEHIND IT. SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS WARM, HUMID CONDITIONS LOOK TO
PREVAIL THROUGH THE FORECAST PERIOD ALONG WITH DAILY CHANCES OF
SHOWERS/TSTORMS
.

Odd. over 60 inches of rain this year and yet, I need it because it has not rained in October. Total for this month is .20" on the 2nd. All of it missed me, and I actually can see the yard starting to suffer a little unless I water. Wish I had just a little from TS Debby now rather than two feet at once. Looks like this new system will miss us, too. 8-)

Cruised to the Bahamas this last weekend. The tropical system out there ruined all the fun.
Glad to be back home. Looking forward to dryer air. Wishing fora front.
