i went with 2. with pressures so high in the sub tropics we wont get anything developing there. dry air is dominating the deep tropics.

And throw in high shear along the gulf and Atlantic coasts due to weekly fronts and troughs and that will keep the chances if homebrew down to a minimum as well.

makes sense. my concern is the dry air thats been around for several seasons now.

I picked 5. One for each week plus an extra one thrown in for good measure. No actual reasoning behind it other than I liked that scheme. Ahaha.

I went with 7 because the upcoming MJO will improve conditions in the deep tropics and I think that strong waves like the one that led to Dorian will be rolling off Africa more frequently.

I voted for four. For some reason I think the real activity will kick in late in the season.

I would like to change my vote to three. Really want to say two but think another weak short lived Dorian type storm will pop up and give us three.

going with three, and no hurricanes. Don't quite know why but I have a gut feeling we'll have an August similar to 2001.

I am tempted to bump mine up to 4, but staying at 3. I think all 3 storms will be hurricanes, but it may be in the last half of August. :)
