Temperature wise been sitting at 39F since this morning....12zECMWF forecast up to 1/2'' of snow for my area late tonight early morning. Hopefully the atmosphere con moisten up a bit later this evening into tonight!

Oh, I'm sure you'll probably get something. Everybody in this state gets something except for me and my Austin peeps. We get the shaft every time.

Going on three years now without even a freezing drizzle storm or any type of winter weather event. Last one was early February 2011 with less than an inch of combined snow/sleet/freezing drizzle.

That Omega block which aggiecutter placed on Austin is impenetrable.

Yep. Exactly how I feel. That just means we should be due for a big storm sometime soon.

Hopefully that big storm includes the metroplex as well.

28 of the 50 12zECMWF Ensembles are forecasting at least a trace of snow in and around McAllen for Monday Night into Tuesday Morning. I at least want to see a snow flurry! lol

I am hoping for some Virga on radar tomorrow. Seems a bit of a disturbance has formed south of the baja. It is mostly Cirrus, but I will be watching it just for grins.It is completely overcast here (Del Rio), cloud cover is supposed to erode.

Not entirely true. We did get freezing drizzle/spurts of light freezing rain in early December 2013 (last year ) at the Weatherdude Center in south Cedar Park/North Austin. Put a nice coat of ice on the vegetation and furniture, but not the street or pavement.

C'mon weatherdude! I'm talking about a legitimate, area-wide event. I remember the night in question well. That was a very minor occurrence which really only impacted portions of north and east Austin. I'm talking about a real event which impacts the entire city or metro area.

It did give TeamPlayersBlue though quite the experience as he tried to commute home that night to H-town from Austin.

A whole bunch of thick cirrus clouds are streaming across Texas. That should put a cap on radiational cooling tonight.

Dewpoint is 2.5F at my house. These clouds will cap it some i think too. But the dewpoint continues to drop.

All official stations around you are reporting a dewpoint of 8-9 deg. Yours may be reading a little low.

Thanks! In all my life (27years) I have been living here IIRC it has snowed 3 times with the most memorable being Christmas 2004. In February 2011 we had all Ice. (not fun!)

I have 0F as the dewpoint on my station, 36 @ 22% RH. Maybe the hygrometers in our stations are worse at lower humidities, not sure.

I do notice that the temp spikes when the sun gets on it and that happened today when the sun came out for a bit. No idea just guessing. ITs super cloudy now but this morning it was spot on with another station in my area.

On my way home from work there was some very light sprinkles, hopefully we can get more moisture than currently forecast!

Very light sprinkles with some sleet mixing in! The NWS just umped the precipitation chances from 20% to 80%!

Tonight: Periods of sleet, possibly mixed with rain. Low around 33. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Did anyone take notice of the ever-trustworthy 300 hr 12Z GFS? It has snow for SETX and all of South Louisiana. 3-5 inches for almost everyone. I am going to go ahead and cash in on that one.

I would guess a certain household in Houston is responsible for a significant burden on the power grid.
