The weird thing is that today's 12z Euro has the coldest temps for the I-4 corridor for Thursday morning not tomorrow morning, it does not move the Arctic High north as much as the GFS for then and with more radiational cooling for this area.

It is possible NDG for it to get colder down your way for Thursday morning. If the Ridge Axis moves directly over North Florida / Southern GA, I would be inclined to think winds should be light all down to across the region. - can see ideal radiational cooling conditions all the way down to the I-4 corridor and temps getting down to the middle 30s in spots across Lake County and Seminole County on Thursday morning.

BTW, temp now at 34.3 degrees at my locale. Temps should reach freeze mark and below by midnight.

Cold raw night so far, 52 degrees and holding steady with light rain. Looks like we might get another rain band with heavier precip moving in a few hours from the SW. For South Florida standards, this is cold rain! Funny how the same clouds giving us these chilly showers are protecting us from colder temps. Some spots in the Everglades have reached the upper 40s. Mid to upper 50s right now across the rest of southeast FL, except the immediate beaches of Miami and the Keys where its 60+. What a gradient!

Rain moved over my region, heavier than earlier rains, temp down now to 50.5 degrees, wow! Might get to the high 40s if this continues. That cold rain sure is helping mix the colder air down to the surface around here! I am beginning to think the forecast high of 71 for tomorrow will be hard to reach, heck it might not even get above 60 if these clouds and rains linger through tomorrow afternoon IMO!

Good news that freezing temps did not get any where close to the I-4 corridor this morning, and record lows seem to be safe at least for the Orlando area. Different story across northern FL and FL Panhandle but some areas did not get as cold as forecasted. Crestview down to 19 degrees!

0z Euro came in a little warmer for central FL but still shows upper 30s reaching parts of the I-4 corridor. It has north FL just as cold for tonight as last night. Where winds go calm tonight some frost is possible.

Actually NDG Crestview is checking in at a frigid 17 degrees currently on their 7 a.m ob.

Currently 26.6 degrees at my locale. The morning low 26.2 degrees so far. The first freeze for my locale this season and by far the coldest reading here since last January. New record low set at the NWS Jax office. They are checking in at 27 degrees currently. The old record for this date was 28 degrees, set in 2008. No question, this has been an extremely impressive arctic air mass for mid-November. Heck, this would be impressive for January.

One more freeze for tomorrow morning with temps back down into the mid-upper 20s interior areas of Northeast Florida. Radiational cooling conditions will be ideal for later tonight as the Arctic High will be situated right over the North Florida/ GA region. Frost will be around tomorrow morning as well. The moderation trend will begin during the day on Thursday across the peninsula. Max temps will be back in the 60s tomorrow and near 70 by Friday across the northern interior peninsula areas.

52* would be a low winter high temperature for us. Mid-winter conditions here. They say it will reach 66* but I doubt it.

As is so often the case in cold events, low temps stopped above (in some cases well above) the forecasts around here. 42 here. Most places were 2-4 warmer than forecast but the bust in some of the colder areas it was more noteworthy...Brooksville recorded 35 instead of the forecast of 28. Freezes in the Ruskin CWA were pretty much confined to Citrus and Levy counties but even in these areas the mins were warmer (in some cases meaningfully so) than forecast. After a cool night tonight I'm looking forward to the much warmer conditions headed toward us.

We are seeing a NE wind surge that has moved in during the last hour or so across the coast of SE Florida. Temperatures have actually risen several degrees with the wind coming in off the warm Gulf stream current. Temps may not get much below the upper 60s along the immediate SE coast of Florida if these NE winds stay up tonight. HUGE temperature difference right now between SE Florida and the rest of the state. I am seeing upper 40s around the Tampa area so some 20+ degree temp difference within only a few hundred miles.

Also it's interesting to note that Ft Lauderdale-Hollywood airport is reporting 64F at 17:53 but West Palm Beach is reporting 70F. The difference? West Palm Beach has a NE wind off the water while Ft Lauderdale is still showing light NW winds. Amazing how the Gulf stream can make such a difference!

That's exactly right gatorcane. Actually, I was expecting the northeast surge to occur earlier in the day down there across the Southeast coast, but has finally set in across Palm Beach, Broward and Dade coastal regions.

Meanwhile, the Jax area is now directly under the center of the modified Arctic High Pressure and winds now have just about gone calm at my locale and the temps really dropped immediately after sunset. Between 6 and 7 p.m., the temp dropped 10 degrees from 49 degrees to 39. Ideal radiational cooling conditions! Currently, my weather station is showing 34.3 degrees and it looks on target to be in the mid-upper 20s here by sunrise tomorrow morning. Also, frost is already beginning to form as I was out and about in the yard, so heavy frost will likely be around in the morning as well.

No Gulf Stream effect just yet in extreme west habitable Broward Co, 58.6 degrees and slowly dropping! Was in the mid 50s most of the day Wednesday, and barely got above 60 (61) just before dusk for a few hours before slowly sinking below the 60 line. Winds are still straight from the north, if maybe a tinge NNW. I saw some temps by the beach were near 70, we sure got a strong temp gradient tonight once again...drops a degree for about each mile west you go in this county it seems!

Cloud cover along with light winds along with higher dewpoints helped the temps stay in the low to mid 40s along the I-4 corridor. Amazing that just an hour and a half drive north from Orlando temps are in the 20s! It never fails that without a strong northerly push in the mid to upper levels freezing temps will always have a struggle to penetrate down to central and southern FL.

It is 26.2 degrees currently at my locale with heavy frost out there. Definitely the end of the growing season now for sure. We had ideal radiational cooling conditions and the mercury really dropped overnighht as was expected. It is actually colder than yesterday morning iat several locations across Northeast Florida. Temp my drop a degree or two more over the next hour or so, which if it happened would bring the coldest temperature reading of the season thus far.

After consecutive hard freezes across this region, slow moderation will begin starting today. Should see max temps today reach the lower 60s as the deep trough axis begins to lift out and the flow will gradually becomke onshore here as the. Modified Polar High moved off. Gradually to the northeast. Also, not expecting a freeze here tonight. With the modification of the air mass. However, more frost will be likely here again on tomprrow morning as temps will fall into the mid 30s.

Rain chances will increase statewide going into Sunday as ta deep southerly flow will bring in ample moisture from the GOM ahead of a negatively tiilted potent shortwave trough coming out of the Southern Plains and will move northeast. Temps will be back in the 70s and 80s statewide this weekend.s

Northjaxpro, I see that freezing temps, though no hard freeze, made it all the way to Jax Beach this morning by looking at some of the local temps in your area. I still find it fascinating the range in temps in Jacksonville between the SE side and the NW side of your town.

Yep NDG living here I am always fascinated by that element. I live in the northern portions of Jax away from the river and coast where I often experience the coldest temps. My locale is only a couple of miles or so from where the NWS office is located as well. The St. Johns River and Intracostal waterway are the reasons of course for the temp ranges from my side of Jax to out to the beaches. However, when we get calm winds under an arctic High Pressure like we have currently, we can get a freeze city-wide, including out at Jax Beach, which we have this morning.
