Yep. Temps have warmed several degrees in the last few hours. Most of the metro area is just above freezing. With darkness approaching, I suspect we'll fall back below freezing by late this evening. And with the onset of precipitation overnight, things could get very *interesting* by tomorrow morning. We shall see.

It has been a very interesting day to say the least. Nobody got close to the forecasted highs. My place was one of the few locations in the Austin area to make it above freezing. High was 35 from my weather station and it has since dropped to 34. I'm seeing the radar returns and saw some reports of ice pellets and there may have been some here at my place but I have yet to see anything the couple of times I walked out to check. As of 5:00 p.m. some sun is peeking through so the cloud deck is far from solid.

I think something maybe wrong with the 7 day forecast for NWS FWD, it has 1 rural city at a high of 35 tomorrow and all the cities surrounding it have a high of 31 or 30, so weird. It even shares the same observation station as cities with temps at 30-31.

Its 32*F now @LHWXC. It has sleeted here in NW Austin. And the temps for me went from 27 in Round Rock to 32 at The LHWXC. Looking at the WV imagery out of the Western US, I see the Baja Monster, and several hidden items of note in the Mexican Mountains that mirror disturbances aiming us for overnight. Temps fall into the 20s tonight? with precip? Its slip n slide in Austin tomorrow. I saw a tow truck guy grinning from ear to ear as I passed him tonite....#anticipation
