Well, but of course. Happy Met Day to you and all those mets on board.

So much for that predicted high of the mid 50's today because of the 'weak' cold front. Temperature has dropped to 39F in NW Harris County with drizzle and mist.

Should be a lot warmer tomorrow with sunshine. Better weekend coming up, too.

Happy met day wxman57 and hriverajr :D

Meanwhile, forget 40F DFW is still trying to get above freezing nearing the 3PM hour! The irony is the coldest high temp so far this winter at the big airport is 36F on new years day. Can we beat that?

Officially, the high today at DFW will be either 37 or 38 - from early this morning. This is pretty miserable winter weather. Good for nothing. Too warm for snow, too cold and dreary for anything else.

Wow, it's all the way up to a balmy 32 degrees here in Denison - at 2:54 p.m. in the afternoon.

After a bit of patchy freezing drizzle over night.

So glad we all knew - from several days out - that this cold air and the bit of ice this morning was on its way! Makes me brim with confidence for the rest of the month! :D

That might be a matter of opinion kind sir. I'm sure it comes as a surprise, but some of us here on this thread actually LIKE chilly weather.

In fact, I find all sorts of ways that this cold weather is useful: getting to work on the wood pile some more, building a nice roaring fire again tonight, making another helping of chili while sitting by that fire, getting to wear sweaters and heavier clothes in my closet, and feeling invigorated when I walk outside. In fact, I feel very much alive on a winter day, unlike the dead of summer when you're sweating and looking for shade by 8 a.m.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, even in wintertime.

Freezing drizzle this morning all over Rockwall county, had a nice coat on the car. We just hit 32.4 - just a wee bit under the forecast.

I love this weather, the warm weather made cedar fever a misery. This is wonderful, fresh, crisp, and can breathe! Bring it, unfortunately warm winds kick back up from the south this weekend meaning more suffering with high count

So much for the GFS 10 day run total precip last week and the 3+ inches. It's more like 0.30"

Got my trash bill yesterday with the city update, all but said stage 4 coming soon

Yes, yes ... the mighty GFS. Seer of All Things Weather. Prophet of Meteorological Prognostication ... what great work.

Same story down here in Austin. Another temperature bust. Same week. Last night's forecasted high was 48. This morning it was 45. Now it is 44 but the actual temperature is only 42. It's a shame we're wasting all of these forecast busts on cold-but-no-wintry precip weather (sorry but I'm not counting the freezing drizzle up north today).

3+ inches in the winter is quite rare. .30 is actually more reasonable. I would never believe a map that said 3 inches in wintertime, just like I would never believe a snow storm in deep south Texas.

DFW has dropped back to 32. Massive bust on all the freezing drizzle this morning, and the forecast high!

having said that it's awfully raw and miserable outside. C'mon weekend 70's.

Highest I can find was 37 at 12:15AM; this may be what wxman57 is referring to.

As early as late this morning my phone weather app still called for a high of 47. Throughout the early morning radio reports, a high of 42 was called for. I would classify this as a major league bust IMO.

Today will go down as the Great Ice Storm of winter 14-15.

We still have March if February doesn't pan out for any winter fun. Some of the most memorable snowfalls that I remember have been late February or in March. Fingers crossed.
