Water Vapor imagery shows the upper low spinning further S across Southern California than was previously expected. Additional embedded disturbances are riding NE across Mexico toward S Central/SE Texas and Louisiana as the thundersleet moves NE away from the Dallas/Ft Worth Area. Further N in Canada you can see the next surge of cold air dropping S into the Northern Rockies/Northern Plains.

Ground is white after just the first few minutes of sleet. Driveway is getting pretty slick.

Getting another moderate sleet shower here. Love it! It just keeps coming. I've only seen a few cars go down the road, which is a good thing. Looks like most people are staying inside.

Upper 20's pushing into Georgetown, Leander & Lago Vista now. Flyovers iced over in Austin proper now, ice on elevated roadways in Williamson county. Watch out for black ice people!

Scratch the lightly sleeting, currently there is a heavy sleet shower, ground is turning white and it is starting to stick to vehicles.

That's really surprising! Making most of what's left of winter there.

What I'm really noticing here is the sleet is becoming a sheet of ice underneath the pellets on top of them. Especially on the street when a car passes by and it refreezes.

This with a fairly steady drizzle. Radar isn't really picking up the drizzle that is coming down. If that continues with temps dropping steadily, the day will get interesting and the rides home today could be rough. Still surprised that the schools stayed open here.

I checked out some TxDot camera shots of the metroplex. It really does look like a skating rink up there, with hardly any cars! Careful up there!
