Lake Travis has risen to 50% of its conservation capacity overnight…for the first time in 3 years. 1 week ago the lake was down -49.12 ft and today the lake is down 37.91 ft…or a recovery of 11.21ft in 7 days. Overnight alone the lake has risen just under 6.0 ft. LCRA is forecasting the lake to rise to elevation 648-651 in the next 24 hours as run-off from the Llano River reaches the lake.

Lake Medina has risen 23.75 feet overnight and 35.80 feet in the last 7 days

I started measuring our rainfall on May 7th and after last night's three inches we are up to 15.85" in the last 17 days in southern Grayson county.

It appears that we have lost the Blanco River @ Wimberley, which has not reported since about 1am. At that time, the gauge was at 40.21 ft.

I wonder how often that happens were the gauge gets taken out by the raging water, like a strong hurricane or tornado. That's assuming it didn't come back online.

we didn't drive over flooded areas but I know at one point the water was covering 35.

(CNN)Flooding from record-setting rains in Texas and Oklahoma swept away hundreds of homes and left at least three people dead.

"We do have whole streets that have maybe one or two houses left on them, and the rest are just slabs," said Kharley Smith, emergency management coordinator in Hays County, Texas.

Crews are still surveying damage, she told reporters Sunday; between 350 and 400 homes in the Texas county are gone, and more than 1,000 were damaged. Two main bridges washed away, she said, and other sustained major structural damage.

No time to put on the brakes. Tomorrow looks like MCS and some flooding in the evening. Then Tuesday might be isolated severe weather with the dry line. As usual it's day by day and any location effected will experience torrential rain. Then we look towards the weekend. Another soon to be highly advertised flooding event again for the southern plains with deep large scale trof kicking through, in addition to any EPAC system. Another 5-8" total period may be in play. Doesn't show it yet on the maps but we'll see those colors fill in again starting in west Texas.

We can see the highly anomalous convection associated with the El Nino continue to fire below us in the eastern equatorial Pacific that is fueling the STJ. In the average neutral year, it is dry in this region and convection is focused waaaay out west over Indonesia and the WPAC. One of these disturbances will converge into a tropical cyclone in the coming days.

As Texas Snowman posted previously the record is 644.76 ft. With the heavy rains in Oklahoma yesterday the rise will continue unabated as water will slowly fill in from the Washita River. Western and SW Oklahoma received a lot of rain yesterday.

As Texas Snowman posted previously the record is 644.76 ft. With the heavy rains in Oklahoma yesterday the rise will continue unabated as water will slowly fill in from the Washita River. Western and SW Oklahoma received a lot of rain yesterday.

That link you posted to the Web Cam for the Texoma spillway doesn't work for me. It said I had the right plugin for Chrome. Are you having any issues viewing it.

I would try another browser like internet explorer or firefox. Chrome recently disabled Java and I think the feed runs on Java from KXII, there's a temporary fix but it requires a few steps to get chrome to run java again (until they permanently remove it)

I downloaded Firefox and it works. Of course, I had to download the Adobe Flash Plugin. Ironically, I run the same Adobe Flash plugin on Chrome, so it must be an issue with Chrome.

Glad it worked! The next few days should be a neat view as the water continues to rise. 2007 overflowed but it was only by a few inches so it was nothing compared to the volume coming down this go round.

I drove I-10 from San Antonio to Houston earlier this afternoon and there were several feeder road closers along the way from high flowing rivers and creeks, especially closer to S.A.

Our dog was reacting differently than she normally does during a storm. She usually wants to cuddle, last night she was restless and wanted to hide. We did get a big blast of wind - we felt the house shake and we had fence blown over. Trees were fine thank goodness.

TWO HOMES...WITH ROOF DECKING ON THE CORNER OF ONE HOME REMOVED...
AND OVER HALF THE ROOF DECKING ON THE SECOND HOME COMPLETELY REMOVED.
TWO LARGE STORAGE SHEDS WERE ARE ALSO PICKED UP AND MOVED 20 YARDS.
PEAK WINDS WERE ESTIMATED TO BE AROUND 95-100 MPH...WHERE THE MOST
SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE SECOND HOME.

THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES.

NOTE:

THE NWS STORM SURVEY TEAM ALSO FOUND DAMAGE IN AUSTIN AT AN APARTMENT
COMPLEX NEAR TECH RIDGE BOULEVARD IN AUSTIN. THE ROOF TO A THIRD FLOOR
PATIO COVERING ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE COMPLEX WAS REMOVED.
SEVERAL CAR PORTS WERE DAMAGED ALONG WITH MEDIUM TREE LIMBS SNAPPED.
SIMILAR TREE DAMAGE CONTINUED TO THE NORTHEAST OF THE APARTMENT
COMPLEX...WITH TREES BLOWN DOWN ALL IN A SIMILAR DIRECTION TO THE
NORTHEAST. THIS DAMAGE WAS DETERMINED TO BE STRAIGHT-LINE WIND DAMAGE
OF 80-85 MPH.

THE NWS STORM SURVEY TEAM ALSO FOUND DAMAGE IN PFLUGERVILLE TO A
ONE STORY OFFICE BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION NEAR NORTH HEATHERWILDE
BOULEVARD AND FM 1825. THE WALLS OF THE BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION
COMPLETELY COLLAPSED. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED TO SURROUNDING
TREES AND BUILDINGS ALREADY COMPLETED IN THE SAME BUSINESS COMPLEX.
TREE AND MINOR ROOF DAMAGE WAS ALSO REPORTED AROUND ONE MILE DOWNSTREAM
TO THE NORTHEAST IN PFLUGERVILLE. THIS DAMAGE HAS PRELIMINARILY BEEN
DETERMINED TO BE STRAIGHT-LINE WIND DAMAGE OF 70-75 MPH.
