Re: Arabian Sea: TROPICAL STORM 02A (No IMD Classification)
I suppose it's possible that the IMD don't care about systems which are moving away from India. We had a ship report from within the storm last night. The ship reported NW wind at 75kts with 12 meter seas (39-40ft) in heavy squalls. I see no evidence of a circulation with 75kt winds, but the squalls may be capable of producing such a gust.

Re: Arabian Sea: TROPICAL STORM 02A (No IMD Classification)
It's now a depression (ARB 01) per IMD.
Sub: Depression over north Arabian Sea
The Depression over north Arabian Sea moved westwards and lay centred at 1730 hours IST
of today i.e. 27 June, 2016 over north Arabian Sea near latitude 21.50 N and longitude 64.0
0 E, about
580 km west of Porbandar (Gujarat) and 440 km east-southeast of Bas Al Hadd (Oman). The system
would continue to move nearly westwards towards Oman coast and intensify into a deep depression
during next 24 hours.
As the Depression is likely to move away westwards, it would not affect west coast of India.
However, the Sea condition will be rough to very rough around the Depression centre. Hence,
fishermen are advised not to venture into deep sea off Gujarat and north Konkan coasts during next
48 hours.

Sub: Depression over northwest Arabian Sea
The Depression over north Arabian Sea moved nearly westwards and lay centred at
0830 hours IST of today, the 28 June, 2016 over northwest Arabian Sea near latitude 21.3
0 N
and longitude 62.5
0 E, about 740 km west-southwest of Porbandar (Gujarat) and 240 km
east-northeast of Masirah (Oman). The system would continue to move nearly westwards
slowly towards Oman coast during next 24 hours.
As the Depression is likely to continue to move westwards, it would not affect west
coast of India.
Now that it's on a weakening trend, it looks like ARB 01 won't be getting a name. :/
It won't even be a deep depression for that matter.

Like most storms in this part of the globe, dry air seems to have killed its structure. Hence it's ragged looks.

It's also battling a good 30ish knots of shear.
Looks like it's still around for now, though losing lots of organization.
