If I just saw correctly on TWC, they are expecting 15 to 25 foot waves into Palm Beach and surrounding areas. That will cause major damage.

Look up Chapter 7 Verse 10 as that is how the Europeans do their dates and the Euro is the better forecast model.

Not the sort of thing one would wish to see in the same frame as Florida, for sure

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Winds have definitely picked up here tonight in the extreme NE part of Broward County. We are about a mile from the beach and you can tell a storm is approaching just by the feel in the air.

Kind of goes hand in hand. Lots of people will be prayin' if not outright pleading over the next few days. Best.

If it stayed on that exact track that would be Harbor Island. Few miles north of Jupiter

Pressure in the 940's would not surprise me at all by morning. I hope Floridians took this seriously (and it appears most have,) it's going to be a rough couple of days. Best of luck to all in path.

Matt's eye starting to pop out again... Sure does look like it has more of a westerly component than earlier in the evening...

Recon looks to be heading home. Another plane is getting ready to depart though.

It's already in the air and on it's way.

Re: ATL: MATTHEW - Hurricane - Discussion
We've seen the eye intermittently multiple times today before it kind of faded into the overcast, but given the pressure falls and IR signatures, I think this time it might be finally clearing out for good. Might stay up late just to see the satellite trends, or perhaps even until the next recon arrives. Much caffeine to consume, I suppose.

Easily T7.0 once the eye clears out. Likely history in the making for Florida (already made in Haiti, unfortunately)

Agreed! Looking like he is ramping up, but at the same time looks very compact. Not a lot of banding atm. Hoping it stays this way. I'm afraid when I wake up tomorrow and check satellite imagery Matthew will have expanded quite a bit, and outflow improved....

man that is close to FL, if it does regain momentum, will it have enough time to significantly ramp up before it hits FL?

107 sustained at Kemps Bay, going to get very serious there shortly.

Might be a hair left. I'm not sure.
Pressure drops could be rapid intensification. Might be them finally finding the center. Structure doesn't bode against RI.
Weather Channel future radar graphic shows GFDL-like landfall and overland route of eye up coast.
Ah, this has regained momentum...
