Gravesend NOT the hottest place in England ever

#1 Postby stu » Tue Sep 30, 2003 4:23 pm

As reported Gravesend, England reached an all time ever recored temp of 38.1c on the 10th August. This was massive news at the time and the UK papers were full of headlines stating that the 100f was broken.

However .... The UKMO has done some back peddling after it was found that another station reached 38.5c on the same day

I wonder if the UK papers will be a quick to run a feature on this ???

Very rare for England to hit THAT high!

Usually, the southern US States get the hot stuff, although, my hometown reached higher than that. It was about 110*F.
