Amazing to see this unfold...with the models slow movement and uncertainty. .Texas and the rest of the gulf coast are very uneasy right now

Believe me, we are. It's starting to take off now, and it's not even nighttime yet. I think the stationary/west wobble today will get cancelled-out by the more rapid intensification, and the ultimate track is still pretty much the same.

That's interesting since the Euro was stalling it around this time frame.

I think the quicker this system moves, the more inland it will track into Texas before it begins to track southeast towards the Gulf again.

Tropical storm-force winds now. Pressure's down some too. I wonder if it will be upgraded at 5.

TX got really lucky with Bret, weakening from cat 4 and hitting rural country. Hopefully history will repeat itself.

The location and the sprawling messiness reminds me a lot of Opal, although the comparisons pretty much end there.

Looks like the beginning of consolidation. It's not as stretched out as before.
NW movement for the next couple of days seems like a good bet. After that is when the fit hits the shan, as they say. :ggreen:

Harvey is wrapping a huge band of moisture in currently, which may effect the center location short term.
We should get some good recon tonight with vortex messages giving us a true heading.
