Almost looks as if it had more time it would make another run at hurricane...

Some of the things I've been seeing it wouldn't surprise me if Harvey were at the top of that list when all is said & done sadly.

COC is almost due south of Lake Charles, moving ENE to NE the last couple of hours, IMO.

I believe many here are suffering from storm fatigue, even if not there, worried about friends, family, and s2k members, following everything they can find. I know I am. The news is getting slower coming out as I believe the climax at this point seems to have been hit, hopefully, and as new news lulls, conversation will sometimes drift, without meaning to take away from the tragedy with Harvey. Let's be kind to one another, forgive small transgressions as others relive their former nightmare watching all this unfold. Just my thoughts.

been saying east pretty much all evening... perhaps the south central LA coast will be 3rd landfall... certainly not the TX/LA border as some alluded to earlier... sat loops don't lie.... now casting very effective regarding what some say...

Vortex is not rotating northward, as I suspected it would Don't focus on the center - there's nothing there. Focus on the convection over SE TX and SW LA.

Good thing too 57. At this point, I don't want to be on the east side of Harvey unless it's decapitated. Lucky as **** compared to all of you.

According to Bloomberg, Harvey's projected costs have risen to $42 billion USD, bumping him up to the third costliest hurricane in US history (not counting inflation).

Once all is said and done, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't higher.

At the rate this center seems to be reforming and how slow it's moving, I wouldn't be surprised if it went back up to 60-65 mph before final landfall.

Looks like it will make landfall around Pecan Island or Freshwater City.

its the center,.. yes you follow the center (which is responding to the blow up of convection and getting pulled towards it. ) .. no your correct its not the issue at hand the rainfall is..
dont think anyone is not following the convection. but the overall system moved east quite a bit today farther than models.

Looks like Beaumont is still getting hit hard. They need a break.

I'm feeling better since there's a little break in the heavy rain and they're saying it'll get better after midnight. As long as my ditch keeps draining, I'll be ok.
My brother got water in his house in North Vidor. My parents in South Vidor are still ok. My dad was able to get far enough earlier to get my mom's insulin.

According to the rain gauge near me, we have gotten 18" since midnight.
