I lost a couple bookmarks from last year so if someone can help me out I would appreciate it. I learned both because of this forum.

The first was used, almost like WeatherBug, to tell where a front was. It had tons of locations with temp and wind and you could see exactly where it was. Heck maybe it is WeatherBug but I haven't found the right view. Wanted to take a peak where the front was since the NSW said it was a little ahead of schedule.

The second was a crowdsourcing site where people would report snow. OK they could report other things but snow was the coolest. Sometimes the radar would show rain but you could look at this page and see where the real snow line was.

If anyone knows what I am talking about and can post it I would appreciate it. And if it is posted, I would recommend others bookmark it.

WUnderground's WUndermap and MPing are the two sites/apps I believe you are looking for. Both are great sources. You can report weather through WUnderground also.

I'd never say never that's for sure, but the odds are definitely against it. Better chance is definitely up to the NW of the metro.

Thought it was interesting txdot was treating roads in Fort Worth lol. Rain gonna wash it all away.

Same here. They treated every major highway in and out of here and all overpasses today.

The last 2 runs of the 3k NAM are highlighting the potential for DFW to pickup another multi inch rain event. The SREF is a little less generous coming in around 0.75" but, more importantly, there are no SREF members showing winter wx. The 00z 3k NAM soundings do show the column cooling enough to possible support snow around 06z Saturday but precipitation has already moved out of the area. Before then, you have to go out towards Decatur or Wichita Falls to find a potential snow sounding.

The random sleet in October, the dry flurry a couple weeks ago, and twice rain in the past week. Just maybe a few wet snowflakes with next round. Watching snow fall is just as exciting as watching it accumulate. A natural beauty we rarely see.

Definitely Wundermap (I knew it was a common platform) and mPing sounds right, but I remember watching snow reports on my laptop, and this is an app. Perhaps there is a website as well, at least to view? I am downloading the app for sure. If it ever snows here, I want y'all to see my report 8-)

Edit: I already had the wundermap app on my phone, I just forgot why I liked it.

And It is mPing. I installed the app and looked around DFW area, dead as you would expect. Moved up to Iowa and snowflakes glistening. Still would like to find view from webpage, but the app works.

If the storm system tomorrow was a little deeper, DFW would have a shot of accumulating snowfall. As it stands right now, Oklahoma has a good chance of seeing some accumulations. Can't rule out a few flakes flying before the precip ends tomorrow night though, especially north of Dallas.

Our much disappointing cold front is moving into the outer edges of the metroplex. Remember when this was supposed to be an arctic blast followed by a snow or ice storm... wah wah wah

Based on OkMesoNet, temps are running a degree or two cooler behind the front than the 00z 3k NAM was showing.

The snow algorithms are off a tad on Tropical Tidbits, for the NAM 3km especially, with it showing accumulating snow over western N TX with the while column barely above freezing.

I will be sad next week if we don't get any snow and Ohio happens to have their only good storm since I've been there.

Next week, especially for the Tue-Thu timeframe, will be interesting wherever the cold air lingers. I expect that will primarily be north of Texas maybe down to NW TX. These areas could see a major ice storm. If there is still precip by Friday and into the weekend, northern Texas could get interesting as more cold builds in.

How far north of Texas?
