Ralph's Weather wrote:Next week, especially for the Tue-Thu timeframe, will be interesting wherever the cold air lingers. I expect that will primarily be north of Texas maybe down to NW TX. How far north of Texas?

on the GFS anyway the majority of the frozen is way north(Kansas/Missouri) on Thursday, but the backside Friday tries to get down into North Texas... if the GFS is too warm or too far north then yeah it gets a lot more interesting(which there's been plenty of evidence to support a colder solution but it is a week out, and this is the range where the other threats went poof)

Yeah the 0z Euro is a snooze fest for TX. SW ridge leads to warm and dry weather for much of next week.

Currently 33-34 this morning and drizzle. I feel like it’s a few degrees cooler than what was being forecasted. Also, looks like the NWS Norman office expanded their winter mix map a little further south.
*Edit - Temp has dropped to 32.

Ensembles still show some winter weather potential in the day 7-14 period with colder temps and possibly some precip as well.

Front came through about 1230am, temps behind are 3-4 degrees cooler than models showed, it's 8:09am temp at DFW is 44 degrees and expected to drop another few degrees. My thinking is we will hold around 40-41 till sunset then drop into the upper 30s. Txdot is on standby with loaded sand trucks just in case bridges/overpasses get a little slick early Saturday morning.

15F currently in Dalhart and 75F in Brownsville. That's a 60F difference. At least it will be chilly for Christmas!

Yep, still encouraged by what I'm seeing on the Ensembles for next Friday/Saturday time frame....trending much colder. If there was a true threat of a storm, we should start seeing the Operationals trend towards that solution starting today (at least that seems to be the furthest extent of any sort of accurate capabilities)

Excellent. Good for you, Yukon and other Wichita Falls members for the win today!!! Metroplexers will enjoy the cold rain today and I don't mind one bit. It is cold and it feels great. Have a few Christmas errands throughout the day and it will feel like winter.

Between Burk and Petrolia. I'm out here checking on some land and noticed something wet hitting on my face, I focused on the dark tree line and its definitely flurries.

Congrats! We shall live vicariously through your flurry experience. :) I wonder what people in Buffalo would think of our excitement over seeing flurries?

Well it now looks as if we will drop to the upper 30s for the day. It's already 38 in Denton, 41 in FTW, and mid 30s back towards Bowie.

Ha! My wife is from Wisconsin and gives me the strangest looks when i act like I just won the super bowl when it starts dropping any type of frozen precip.

12z GFS looks more like the Euro now and keeps most of the cold air north and east of TX.
