The low off to the NW of Cuba sure looks much more robust than the one we've been tracking to the SE of it... the old low looks like it might be washing out with the new NW low taking over as mentioned by Levi a couple of posts above... additionally that NW low appears to be moving N... if that is the case we might just have a new ball game in play... at least it certainly looks that way to me with these old decrepit eyes on the 50 loops vis sat presentation at fast speed...

Gfs and Euro have both been very close to Pensacola last 2 days. It is concerning how the gfs is showing strengthening to a hurricane. If Euro shows something similar, this area will be in for a surprise

I'd give equal weight to GFS and UKMET at this point

Gotta be careful of exact track with the models with everything on the east side and multiple vorts. There's a reason they issued watches up for Tampa, I bet the big bend gets them soon also. I'd almost prefer to be right where the center is rather than the east edge of the center. Trend has been a bit east, but it really depends on what "center" becomes dominant, so I'd take the exact track of the models and shift it a bit east/west (more likely east) based on what happens to the center.

Any chance the models are slightly exaggerating the strength at landfall? Not trying to downplay it, but the northern/northeast Gulf is always a difficult place for storms to maintain strength. A hurricane just seems a bit of a stretch for that easterly course into the panhandle.
