Ticka - You're in my thoughts & prayers! Let us know how your appointment went.

Hmmm Dennis - I gotta try a liquid breakfast one of these days!!! LOL!

Speaking of liquid breakfasts (I know, BOO! HISS! ), good luck with the test Steve! I've had a sigmoidscopy (sp?) once. My doctor wants me to start having those colonoscopies done when I turn 45.

I wish I had today off, but I am catching up on things here at work. The weather is nice, about 60 today. Tomorrow it'll hit themid 60's to perhaps 70's with rain showers before dipping back into the 50's for the rest of the week. I did see the extended forecast too Dennis and a nice cold front should be dipping down to your neck of the woods by the end of the week. It looked like your area said 40's! I understand that yesterday there were over 100 record high temps out west!

Everyone be good and I'll talk to you later!

Good afternoon stovians,

It's a beautiful day here in the Burgh. Temp is in the mid 60's.

Steve, hope test turns out normal for ya.
Ticka, I hope your Dr. finds the problem and you get better soon. I'll be prayin for both "yunz" guys.

SCI, I'm so glad you got to sleep in yesterday. Now it's about those pancakes, do you just put fried/drained bacon in the batter?? They sound really good.

Dennis, those pups of yours are GREAT. Hope you are all rested up.

Mary, you have every right to stand up on that soapbox. (Hugs) I'm a really good one for you to preach to. I haven't been to the Dr. in soooooooo long I can't remember the last time, never get flu shots, last visit to the gyne was 20 years ago and have never had a mamogram!!!!! Mary, now put that down, don't be smacking me like that. OUCH, OUCH

I'm gettin outta here while I still have a chance. Whew

I'll put on a fresh pot of coffee and brew a pot of Earl Grey.

Take care my friends
As Eric would say (Where are you Eric???) have a marvelous Monday!!

Karan - oh my, I wasn't throwing anything at you but I swear, I was saying your name OUTLOUD! If anyone would have heard me.....LOL Ya know, I can't get people to see their doctor's but I can tell you I'm darn glad I went way back when!!! In fact I may or may not be on the local news for our local American Cancer chapter. Stage 1 Colon Cancer isn't that common. Actually, Stages 3 and 4 are, sadly. People just put off going to the doctor (Stephanie, uh hum, don't skip that test when you're 45!!!). In my case I just *knew* something wasn't right, after a few symptoms mind you, but also b/c my dad died from colon cancer. You see those red flags were really going up for me. I've promised all my docs, to RUN to them if I ever suspect anything again. And of course to never skip a procedure. All of that said, I just don't think I'll ever have it again. Call me naive, but I truly believe that.

Yes, where is Eric? Oh Eric.....probably working today.

Mary

PS - I painted 2 more windows!!! Have 7 to go. Until I turn the job over to hubby.......LOL (Higher up windows)

Well just got back from the doctor - spent 3 hours waiting to see him. I have a respitory infection that was in my chest. He told me if I had waited much longer it wuuld of turned into bronchitsis.

I got two prescriptions - he gave me enough for my hubby too who is sick with the same stuff. So I am going to take three dosage between now and until I have to go to work tomorrow and he said I should get some relief. If I don't get better in 7 to 10 days - I have to go back and see him. BTW - what I have is highly contagious.

Good thing I am hiding behind this computer.

Well Ticka, I'm glad that you went to see him and got some medication for it. Didn't he prescribe something for you before too?

Well, Karan nearly ran me over so I think I'll curl up by the potbelly stove on the rocker and catch a cat-nap with Crouton.

Zzzzzz....

Ticka, so glad to hear you're taking meds and will be better soon. That's a lonnnnnng wait!!!

Speaking of getting run over, a lady just hit my new Subaru!!!! I had backed out of a parking space and was starting to pull away and she backed right out smashing my right side bumper!!!! No damage to her car or her.

What a Bummer to have a big dent in a brand new car -------------------She was a nervous wreck, had to pee and I was afraid she would pee her pants right there!!! Poor thing. Thanks God we were both ok. Oh well, that's why we pay insurance.

I'm drinking a nice glass of Chardonnay to calm myself.

I think I'll grab Granny's afgan and sit in the rocker for awhile.

Ticka, I'm glad you saw the doc, today -
sometimes, you've just gotta be like
Barney Fife and "NIP IT in the BUD" before it
gets started! Hopefully, getting those
in your system now will keep you well for
quite some time! Hope hubby gets better, too!

Karan, girl, you DESERVE that Chardonnay!
If someone had hit my new vehicle, I'd
of probably stood there and peed before
THEY had a chance! ;) :ggreen:

Miss Mary, you'll be smiling at your painting
job when the cold weather sets in. LOL, Mom
has found a "few" more things that need painting...
*sigh....she'll have to wait another week, though,
as, this is my Saturday to work at the hospital.

Anyone heard from poppysky?

Ya'll have a great evening!

Geez Karan - I'm sorry to hear that your car got "christened" ! I'm glad that noone was injured. Drink the whole bottle if you need it!!!

Thanks for passing that info along from Poppysky, Miss Mary. I'm glad to hear that the test went alright.

I friend of mine at work had one done about a month ago. They suggest that you don't even go into work the next day (if you're driving) because you're still out of it.

Have a great evening folks!

Stephanie - I'm usually okay the day after the procedure. The day before, you're stuck home (prep) and the day of, you're out of it, sleeping off and on. The day of the test they don't want you to drive anywhere, in fact you have to sign a document at my doc's office that you won't drive! Believe me, I don't want to drive that day! LOL I can see how some patients are still groggy the day after, I'm usually not though. The way I look at it, it's about a day and half out of your schedule (prep starts in the afternoon).

What an interesting topic!!!! Gotta get off this subject....my annual procedure is in 2 months. So it will be my turn soon......

Karan - that's just awful your new car was hit! Glad you were okay and it happened in a parking lot though. Still, when you get a new car you're watching for every ding, not a big ding like this! Yikes. So sorry for you.

Night all!

Time to get off the topic...after this report.

Indeed the colonoscopy test went fine...and as I told Mary, there are no demons on my dark side! Doc was pleased with the condition of the road.

I have had an annual physical every year without fail since I turned 40 (now 17 years ago). All you youngen's out there, work as hard as you must to take care of yourself. As a kid, I used to think that people could die of a disease called "old age." In reality, we all have bits and pieces that fail us early or need attention. The better you take care of yourself heading into this great time in your life, the more often you'll be able to pass those physicals with flying colors.Old age is a matter of the mind if you work to keep all the other parts working.

Ticka...get yourself back on the road to recovery. Nothing like respiration issues to knock your energy away, though.

Back to work for me tomorrow. I'll be a little lighter on my feet. In part because of all that sewer work...but mostly because good health reports make you feel happy all by themselves.

Enjoy your Tuesday.

Hey all,

I am sick again. Went to the doc today and was diagnosed with inflammation in both eardrums. Funny that after I left the doc, I got postnasal drip. :o  So I will be staying home tomorrow. Hopefully I will only miss one day since I have that week off from 11/3 to 11/7. ;)

Sheesh! After reading this page I am thanking my lucky stars to feel good this morning!!

All of you who are sick or who have had testing done-so many to name- I wish you well!!

Poppysky- I have just recently begun to figure out how IMPORTANT it is for me to start taking care of myself now!! Of course, it didn't take much, just taking a look around at some of the people I care about!! I am doing good so far, I just need to keep it going in the years to come!

Karan- I am a doc procrastinator as well! As far as going when I am sick, I do go, I like the meds , but I (gulp) have yet to see a gyne! I know I know, I am putting off the inevitable, I just havent brought myself to do it yet! I will soon....I think! Oh, and BTW, my car, though it isn't new, has been "christened" about 5 times in the two years I've had it!! I feel your pain!

Well, gotta go check on my load of laundry, and then reclaim my spot on the couch, love them days off! :D Have a good day and get well everyone!!

Good Evening Pot Belly Buddies!

Indeed Jacki....seems like a LOT of our buddies are under the weather, having tests etc......including myself! Remember I told y'all about the skin cancer, WELLLLLLLL......I JUST got home about 15 minutes ago, it's 1825 MST (6:20 for you civilians "LOL!") I had it removed today and let me tell ya's, I *kinda* ran into some *slight* trouble. When the sawbones (sorry to be graphic here) cut it out, it WOULD NOT quit bleeding, hence the reason for my 2.5 hour stay at the office! Now the wait to see what kind of cancer it is.

Ticka........I *HOPE* your taking care of yourself!

Steve, hope things are going better for you today!

Josh, hope your feeling better too!

Well folks, it's that time of year........."Control Burn Season!" After 2 major wildfires in 2 years, I "LOVE" seeing the smoke, although the house is smoked in today, from a control burn! *wheeze, cough, gag*

KARAN! I am SO sorry to hear about your new car, that REALLY, REALLY sux! Here's another bottle to help ease the pain!

Jacki.....take our word for it......."PLEASE" by all means, get your butt in to see a sawbones!

Well folks, my face is hurting "HEY....I heard that, I know, I know, if you had a face like mine, it would hurt too!" LOL! I'm off for a beer and bed, so until tomorrow, "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You!"

Yes I am feeling much better this evening :) :D I should be back at work tomorrow. :)

My Word was it hot today. :o Geez. 89.5° here at the apartment, which makes for one of the few 90 degree readings if you round it up. :o Zillions of records obliterated today in my area, and add to that the four brush fires burning in this area - it was one mega hot day. :o

Hey ya'll! Sorry to read that so many are under the weather...hope everyone egts to feeling 100% again real soon! Steve, glad you got a good report! YIPPEE! :)

We just returned tonight from 8 days in the Ozark mountains in Arkansas. We camped at a US Forrest Dept campground with no power or water, except for the beautiful lake at our site. It was a very calming time, but lots of excitement too! We hiked some great trails, shared many great stories around the campfire, and met alot of nature! We were visited by a black bear lastnight at our site, and his growl scared the dickens out of Chloe and I, and we spent the remainder of the evening in the camper! Meanwhile, Brett and Brian were off with their flashlights as weapons, scaring the poor bear off with song, and light. We never saw him, but his last growl, made him sound no more than 10 feet from our coleman lanterns sight. Pretty amazing to have been visited by a bear! Theres many other stories to share, but our visit by the bear takes the cake!

Have a great Wednesday friends....

Good Morning!

"FURRY!" I was wondering where you were......glad your back! HEY, be CAREFUL with them thar bars (bears), they may look small but I'm tellin' ya from personel experience, they are STRONG and they will turn on you in a heartbeat! How's the home schooling going?

One more day of record heat and then a cool down FINALLY, this has been, without a doubt, the warmest Hot-tober on record. Steve, I can't even imagine the heat that y'all are having down there, the 84-85° we've been having up here is bad, I can't imagine 103 :o It looks like this will be the 1st Halloween in memory that it hasn't snowed, rained......indeed a bummer

Pretty much had a sleepless night last night, the area where sawbones took off the skin cancer hurt like a S.O.B. all night, the pain meds did nuthin' more than dull the pain, ah well, at least it's done and over with!

Don't know how much I'll be around this evening, we have a late evening SAR training......with the string of recent searches, it's only a matter of time before we have an all night, pitch black search. The last search was at night but we had moonlight to guide us along with our night vision googles 8-) (YES....we have those, thanks to the WMAT Police Dept  I dang sure couldn't afford to buy a set :o )

That's nuff outta me this morning, make it a GREAT Weds would ya?

Dennis 8-)
