Rainy season is over but none in sight is not accurate. there's likely to be a slug of tropical moisture coming up from the south next week that should yield some good rainfall for someone...granular details yet to be determined.

Rained all day yesterday along the coast at my locale with showers that moved in from the Atlantic. Also rain chances look quite high in the medium to long-range.

Big front a week from now but looks like the brunt will fall just short of Florida :grr:

Could see temps cooling down some though (not shown). The other thing to watch is possible development in the Western Caribbean.

We've got nicer temps in sight by late week as drier air filters in. Low dewpoints and highs in the mid 80's will feel amazing. The wheels are definitely turning

Still dry as a bone here in Panama City. We had no rain the entire month of September and October is starting out the same way.

Finally some legit heavy showers lighting up the radar. A solid downpour is heading my way right now. I'm excited to see some meaningful water fall from the sky.

It was way too soon to call it when the MJO is in our side of the world, it was a matter of time for the rains to return before the real dry season begins.
Rain in my area through the rest of the week, much needed.

Yeah we mentioned to Boca last week rain was on the way. Looks like his area in West Boca saw some.

A hybrid Howler will send a front through the Florida peninsula by Thursday but this one will be similar to the last front for central Florida(80's days, 60's nights) It might bring our dewpoints even lower then last time(the lowest dewpoint I measured from the last front in late September in Orlando was 59) which'll be nice(the 12z GFS sinks our dews in the mid-50's on Sat.).

It appears the front is coming through dry unfortunately. I was hoping for showers in the panhandle.

I picked up just over 4.3 inches of rain at my home station from yesterday's much needed and welcomed all-day soaker!! It was the most rain we had here since 9/4, in which just under an inch occured here during a rain squall upon Dorian's approach to Northeast Florida. Some spots around Jax metro area had over 5". We needed this rain!! I hope we get more rain this month before the winter dry season kicks into gear here as we get into mid-November and beyond...

So much for the rainy season being over, numerous showers and thunderstorms currently tracking from west to east across South Florida.

6-10 day is looking torchy with 70% above probs over much of central and northern fl. Such high probs often correlate with highs closer to records than normal.

FL weather is lame in the fall. If only most of my family did not live here, I'd left a while ago to TN or NC. I'm dreaming of cool crisp air with autumn leaves.

Cold Front Wish-Cast here LOL. At least per GFS it looks like the "real-deal" is comin' through around Oct. 23/24. Should be one that'll sweep the entire state and if my guess is right...... may bring upper 50's for lows and upper 70's for highs for most of Central Fla. (and possibly well south into S. Florida)! :boog:

:uarrow: That would be in keeping with climo which shows our first below 60 lows in latter October over central Florida. In the meantime we're not exactly suffering as we wait. Sun angle is low enough now that somewhat above normal temps are still pretty nice provided dewpoints are in check. It does appear that another round of higher dewpoints are incoming as moisture pools ahead of a front so fall is a bit behind schedule this year.. but we're used to that by now..
