WNW = West-Northwest (282-303 degrees) NW = Northwest (304-326 degrees) NNW = North-Northwest (327-348 degrees)

OH wow I had WNW and NNW reversed. Thanks for the correction! (At least I got "pure" NW right, lol.)

Yeah Sorry I had WNW and NNW reversed. Thanks to all the many for the "catch". Actually makes the jog a bit northerly, good for Broward. Cheers! Good Luck all watching.

Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
katrina was a nutty one, headed due west out of the Bahamas toward broward takes the last minute dip south and then on to the gulf and New Orleans, held its own over the everglades dor the trip across as the water was 90+...that was a huge win for hwrf as it had sniffed out that south dip well in advance and of course we all said no way is that happening and it did

You can use this. https://www.rainradar.net/ Zoom out of Europe, then pan around and then zoom in on Isaias.

Long-range Miami’s radar picking up the first bands it looks like over near Andros and over the Straits moving west:

Based on the even steeper wind drop than the previous pass, I think the pressure might be lower. We’ll have to see what the second plane finds in 15-30 minutes.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I have been away from the computer most of the afternoon, so someone probably talked about this earlier. Why does Isaias constantly have the blow up of convection on the west side? Is there a competing vort under that?

Now Cuba is really blocking its inflow. It wasn't hours ago. The mountains are between it and its moisture pull. My personal opinion we will probably see intensification level off. Doesn't look to be really weakening but seems to be struggling to improve any farther

I'm not an expert so take this with a grain of salt.

EDIT- Meant Cuba not Hispaniola

Due north is both 360 and 000. either is acceptable.
