Re: ATL: ISAIAS - Tropical Storm - Discussion
I honestly have no clue where the center is. If it is where I think it is, this storm looks like it may even jogging a tad NE. Definitely no hint of west. But again, between the radar and satellite loops, I can't tell. This thing is just so poorly organized. Not sure what's uglier, the storm or the name.

the radar isn't the center. that's convection being sheared away form the LLC.

You can clearly see there the MLC blowing away to the east and leaving the LLC behind.
Yeah, this things a mess. Getting severely hammered.not going to be a hurricane again, unless something drastic changes.

so much for the shear decreasing tonight I guess...thought it was dead this afternoon and then I thought it was rapidly improving with huge blowups and now...guess that is why all of us are here, would be boring if we actually knew for sure what each storm would do

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

Can someone tell me or show me where the center is on a map? I can’t seem to pin point it on radar or IR

I’m watching Mike Bettes pronounce Isaias and thinking wow!

I think it’s just east of Bimini which is due East of Miami in The Bahamas

Looks like the pulse of convection is starting to wane and get sheared to the east. The core might be able to contain some storms though. Very tough to find the center. This is not going to be a hurricane again tonight. That said, if the shear relaxes a little we know how quickly it can blow up.

I’m starting to think the displacement of the MLC will be enough to keep Isaias’s LLC from making landfall on Florida’s East Coast.

The 250MB shear is supposed to move off after daybreak. Give the guy some open warm water then and get your popcorn ready.

Isaias just can’t catch a break. He’s trying so hard.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Looks like he tried to fire a burst of convection towards Florida and then retreated before it got there.

Hey GCANE. Where is that anticyclone you were talking about earlier? Is the shear going to let up?
