This most recent radar image of the eyewall is very concerning. Rapidly strengthening.

Re: ATL: SALLY - Tropical Storm - Discussion
NOAA plane shows that Sally still has a very asymmetric structure, with barely any TS winds on the southern side. This needs to change in order for Sally to continue to intensify... pretty clear on radar, as some have pointed out, that such an attempt to develop a more symmetric structure is currently underway. Guess we'll see how that pans out.

80 mm/hr rain rate.
Can easily go to Cat 2 or more.

I haven't seen much about the temperatures in that CDO but they are insane. I don't think I've ever seen such cold, consistent cloud tops this far north. Or maybe that's just my inexperience showing.

You say that as Sally's pressure dropped nearly 10mb in just a few hours. Regardless, that radar structure is showing a huge improvement.

Still has ~36 hrs over water. More than enough time to become a major, as long as upwelling doesn't occur just offshore.

Hurricane Charley went from 110mph to 145mph in 3 hours. So yeah, anything is possible during a rapid intensification phase in the gulf. And it's still 24 to 48 hours before landfall depending on speed.

Serving myself a big dish of Crow right now. I so didn’t expect this. Heck, even Wxman was saying 75 to 85 mph at landfall. Anyway, back to my big plate of Crow that is getting cold

Re: ATL: SALLY - Hurricane - Discussion
Looks like sally hasn’t yet decided if she wants a micro core or a larger one. Very strong band on the ne side, but that swirl on the west side doesn’t want to let go yet

Yea, radar confirms that but still pretty good distance north of the forecast track, hope that motion continues.
