I was just one during Wilma's RI, and I barely followed TCs during Patricia's run, and I've often wondered about what it would be like to witness that.
I don't want to sound like I'm overhyping, but I think this is going to be my Wilma.

An hour ago I would have waved off any thoughts of Wilma going down tonight. But this is quickly becoming one of the best satellite presentations of any hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic. I think Wilma's 2 mi wide eye might be what saves the record.

I tracked Wilma as it bombed out. It’s unforgettable!

I'm sitting here gob-smacked at that thought. Anyone off-hand know the 24 hr period record for RI (winds or pressure)?

I certainly didn't track Wilma as I was 4. I tracked Patricia only on an old Weather channel app I had. I certainly wasn't tracking storms then like I do now. So I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Most anticipated recon pass ever for me

For pressure it's 97 mb in 24 hours with Wilma.

Re: ATL: ETA - Hurricane - Discussion: AF Plane in Western Caribbean
Accidentally posted this in the wrong thread, but My God 2020 is a nightmare. I was too consumed by the record-breaking typhoon in the WPAC and totally missed the fact that we now have a potentially record breaking hurricane in the Atlantic in a record breaking season, in November no less.'
Edit: Eh what a coincidence

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

At this point it not being a cat 5 would be more shocking than 800s.
