Canadian doesn’t have as impressive snow totals as the GFS or ICON but looks to be a step in the right direction from the 12z run.

It's due to warm nosing from the gulf low developing.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

All the 00z Globals have record setting cold and significant amounts of freezing rain/sleet for south LA on Monday/Tuesday. QPF increasing each run with a gulf low developing. It was 79 degrees here today so it's still hard to believe.

The Euro control and ENS are handling this a little better in the shorter term regarding temps. I would pay very little attention to the operational at this point as it has already proven terrible with real time data.

AccuWeather app must use the Euro because it has temps warming through tonight to 34 and a high of 46 Wed.

It's becoming evident through nearly all guidance something spectacular is about to happen weather wise for us all. We'll have more time to fine tune the details but this is going to become a generational memorable event regarding cold AND snow, a rare combo indeed.

But before then North Texas and Oklahoma (and the Arklatex + parts of Hill Country) have to deal with possible icing event first of immediate concern.

Even some of the coarse OP guidance is starting to see some concern. This is sneaking up on us in a hurry.

Ukmet keeps DFW under 10F for a high Monday.

Euro gets us down to 5-7F. Single digit drought coming to an end.
